
Lena Dunham has addressed the demise of her relationship with music producer Jack Antonoff, revealing that she ended up cheating on him with an old school friend.
The Girls creator was in a relationship with Antonoff, who has produced hits for the likes of Taylor Swift, The 1975, Lana Del Rey, and more, for nearly six years between 2012 and 2018.
Dunham has now revisited the relationship in her latest memoir, Famesick, which saw her admit to hooking up with an old schoolfriend after a blowout argument with Antonoff.
According to an excerpt of the book, shared by The Telegraph, Dunham revealed that she and Antonoff got into their 'worst-ever fight' just weeks after she'd undergone a hysterectomy for endometriosis.

Dunham claims that Antonoff had lost patience with Dunham due to the pain from her chronic illnesses, which includes endometriosis and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, impacting several aspects of their relationship.
During one instance in November 2017, Dunham writes that she attempted to open up to Antonoff over her increasing reliance on pain medication, which she says prompted the musician to 'go to the bathroom and angrily flush all my pills down the toilet'.
"[This] necessitated a call to the doctor and a late-night trip to the pharmacy to get more so that I wouldn’t go into withdrawal — from any one of the drugs — overnight," Dunham continues, adding that Antonoff had spoken to her 'in ways I have never been spoken to', prompting the 39-year-old to seek validation from someone else.
She goes on to write that she texted an old school friend and ex, named Nick, and they slept together that evening.
However, Dunham also suggests that Antonoff may have been unfaithful during their relationship, suggesting that he'd at one point grown close to an unnamed 'teen popstar'.
"I wasn’t paying attention, but the internet sure was," she writes.

She goes on to reveal that a PowerPoint circulating online about Antonoff's alleged affair led to her questioning aspects of the relationship and 'rethinking events that I myself had been present for'.

Elsewhere in the memoir, Dunham accused Girls co-star Adam Driver of being 'verbally aggressive' towards her while filming the HBO series.
Addressing the first sex scene the pair filmed, Dunham claims the House of Gucci actor 'hurled' her once the cameras started rolling.
Claiming that 'careful blocking went out the window and he hurled me this way and that', an interaction which left Dunham 'stunned'.
"I couldn’t speak for a moment, unsure of what had happened — had I lost directorial authority, allowed the scene to go off the rails, not given proper instructions," she writes.
"It wasn’t that I felt violated... But I felt that something intimate, confusing and primal had played out in a scenario I was meant to control."
