Brits are realising where they recognise Lucien Laviscount from after Shakira posts photo with actor

It's only just clicked in people's heads

Lucien Laviscount has caused huge waves online following his photoshoot with the Latin artist.

The actor was snapped getting up, close and personal with Colombian music legend Shakira, with Brits just now clocking where they recognise him from.

The 31-year-old actor has been in the industry since he was a teenager, making several appearances in a number of TV series such as Coronation Street and Scream Queens.

He is most recently recognised as Alfie from Netflix series Emily in Paris, playing the love interest of the titular character, played by Lily Collins.

He's back in the news now for being announced as Shakira's love interest in her latest music video for upcoming song Puntería, featuring Cardi B.

She announced it in an Instagram post, captioning it: "Fine-tuning the shot with @its_lucien in Puntería."

He wasn't shy to give the 47-year-old a few kisses in snaps too, sparking rumours of the two even possibly being together.

Despite the fact that many were talking about the photos themselves on social media, others were baffled at where they recognised Laviscount from.

Laviscount plays Alfie in Emily in Paris, but it isn't the part he is best known for.

The Burnley-born actor was once part of the main cast of BBC drama, Waterloo Road.

Laviscount played Jonah Kirby in season six, best known for his rebellious nature and unapologetic attitude of being who he is.

Oh, and also for sh*gging his Spanish teacher.

In fact, Jonah ends up marrying her before she gets arrested (you should watch the series for the full context), but after she realises that she is pregnant.

Though Jonah left the series for good in season six, it's fair to say that he left his mark, with several people remembering his part.

People were absolutely shocked when they realised that he was once Jonah Kirby, sharing their shock on X, formerly Twitter.

The actor is best known for his time on BBC drama series Waterloo Road.

One user posted: "Jonah from Waterloo Road went from being in love with his Spanish teacher to now being with Shakira???"

Another commented: "How does the bloke from waterloo road and corrie bag all these a-listers."

A third put: "Going from s****ing the Spanish teacher in Waterloo Road to Shakira is insane."

Laviscount has also been in the news recently for his seasoned dating history, even having a fling with the one and only Kerry Katona when were on Celebrity Big Brother in 2012, when she was 31 and he was just 19.

In fact, the couple even did an OK! Magazine shoot which featured the tagline: "We hope we’ll be together forever."

So, if the rumours are true, Shakira won't be the first celebrity he'd have dated, though she may be the biggest.
