Elle Fanning’s upcoming show will see her star as a pregnant OnlyFans star, and her co-star has now spoken out about the sex scenes from the show.
Fanning is coming off the back of her first Oscar nomination for Sentimental Value, but the celebrity is not playing it safe with her follow-up project.
Margo’s Got Money Troubles is based on a book by Rufi Thorpe and will see Fanning star as Margo Millet alongside Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfieffer, and Nick Offerman.
Margo becomes pregnant after sleeping with her junior college professor and, facing financial difficulties, turns to OnlyFans.

Michael Angarano plays the professor in question, and has stated that the sex scenes in the show left him ‘sore’.
Angarano spoke about the rehearsals for the sex scenes with Elle Fanning’s Margo
Speaking to PEOPLE magazine Angarano said that things got fairly physical during preparations for the sex scenes he shared with Fanning in the Apple TV+ show.
Angarano told the magazine: “We had rehearsals that were for our sex scenes — but they called it stunt rehearsals — and it was actually kind of fun thinking of it like stunt work.”
He stated that he was ‘sore after’ and called it a ‘bonding experience’ between the two actors.

He continued: “We've known each other as friends, and, you know. I was really excited to do it with her because it's such a complicated relationship.
“It's so dimensional and heavy, and … I think the show does a really good job of this in general, where it presents very dysfunctional, flawed people, but doesn't really judge them.
“I think a lot of people would cast aspersions about their relationship. It's inappropriate, it's many things, and he does not treat it well, but it was really fun. It was just a really fun thing to explore.”
Fanning set up an OnlyFans account to understand the world of the show
In an interview with Elle magazine, Fanning said that production set her up an account on OnlyFans to help her understand how it works.
She said: “There was a lot of looking at OnlyFans with the writers, but we all gave consent to each other before we did it.
“We were very responsible and we just tried to get as much information as we could before we started.”
Speaking about the story of the show, Fanning added: “You can dream up a path for yourself of a big plan, of what you see your future looking like.
“I'm someone that does that, maybe to a fault sometimes. About what I want to happen, or where I want to be at a certain age. And sometimes those things do come true.’
“But in Margo's case, she's presented with these surprises in her life and at every point, makes the most difficult decision for herself.
“But instead of wallowing in that, she then perseveres and pushes through, and it makes her better. I love her optimism in tackling the hard stuff.”
Margo’s Got Money Troubles is available to stream on Apple TV+ 15 April 2026.
