Miley Cyrus has claimed she was immediately 'fired and replaced' after a photo of an x-rated gift she bought her then-boyfriend emerged online.
Singer and actor Cyrus, who became an international child star thanks to her starring role on Disney channel's Hannah Montana, was not immune to the intense scrutiny which comes with growing up in the public eye.
The singer, who celebrates her 33rd birthday today, has addressed how the decision to purchase an NSFW cake for then-boyfriend Liam Hemsworth's birthday led to her allegedly being booted from her role in Hotel Transylvania.
The 'Flowers' singer had signed on to play the role of Mavis Dracula, daughter of Adam Sandler's Count Dracula, for the 2012 animated film.

However, a joke cake for Hemsworth would cost her the job.

"I, as a joke, got my boyfriend a penis cake for his birthday and I got fired," she explained to Monica Lewinsky back in June during an episode of the 52-year-old's podcast Reclaiming With Monica Lewinsky.
"I was the lead actress in Hotel Transylvania and they fired me and replaced me because I made an inappropriate adult joke," she continued. "But I was 18."
Images of Cyrus and the infamous cake were published by TMZ back in 2012, with images showing a teenage Cyrus kneeling and sticking out her tongue next to the explicit cake, which has 'Happy Birthday Liam' iced underneath.
The publication of the photos would see Cyrus replaced by Only Murders in the Building star and fellow Disney Channel alum Selena Gomez, who would reprise the role in the three Hotel Transylvania sequels.
She would also allege the photos were published after her camera was stolen at a party.
"[It was] nothing I posted," she said. "I was at a private event at a private party and I got robbed. It’s not cool."

Cyrus went on to reflect on her decision to get the cake for Hemsworth, who she was briefly married to between 2018 and 2020.
"What felt ridiculous to me about getting fired [over] a penis cake was that they sell penis cakes for all bachelorettes … in Nashville, Tennessee, you can get penis cakes," the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker explained.
"It’s not that big of a deal. I thought this [was] a very simple, not vulgar joke … this is silly. You can do this for all bachelorette parties; they make necklaces and cups and straws and all kinds of stuff. It felt ridiculous."
She continued: "To be fired for regular things that girls my age, they go to bachelorette parties and they do this."
