It seems an exciting new era from Miley Cyrus is upon us as she’s made quite a change.
Pulling off a move reserved for icons only (hello Adele, Beyoncé, Kylie, Cher etc…), she appears to have dropped her last name.
Soft-launching what appears to be a new era for the musician, she’s completely updated her website which was once mileycyrus.com.
But now, in a move Cyrus had publicly considered well over a decade ago, she’s changed it to just a simple mileyofficial.com.

With a red background and close up snap of the Disney Legend’s face, ‘MILEY’ is plastered across the home screen. She’s not yet updated her social media platforms to match and it could perhaps be an album title. But either way, it seems like a big move.

The ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer’s last name of course comes from her ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ dad, Billy Ray Cyrus. And back in 2013, the singer had considered dropping it in a bid to shake off her past.
“I was thinking about dropping the Cyrus and just being Miley but there’s something powerful about the fact that my name now is like a household name,” the now 33-year-old told Notion magazine.
“People have this misconception of me that I'm just one of these kids on TV and that now I go off and party and I'm just this ratchet white girl, and I'm not."
She continued: “I’m young and living and in LA which is everyone’s dream, you know. I’m living it to the fullest. Rather than taking a blessing and making it a curse, it’s just like this is what this name is now.”

And as she now seems to have finally made this move in some way, fans are loving the first look at her new era.
“Miley dropping Cyrus from her website feels like the most Miley move ever, she rebrands every era and it always ends up being the right call,” one wrote on X.
Another agreed: “The way Miley rebrands every era and somehow makes every new version of herself work will never not impress me.”
As others say the surname has ‘officially clocked off’, fans ‘can’t wait to see what she has cooked up’ with the ‘MILEY’ era.
It could of course just be that her new album is self-titled, but still, it seems to be self-titled without the surname.
Bring on MILEY, I guess.
The LADbible Group has contacted representatives for Miley Cyrus for comment on the change.

Miley Cyrus' real name
As fans of Hannah Montana and the star's mega career will be aware, Miley isn't actually her original name.
When she was born back in November 1992, the daughter of Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus was named 'Destiny Hope'.
But her family were soon nicknaming her as 'Miley'.
During an appearance on the Tea Time with Raven & Miranda podcast, her mum explained: "Billy Ray came up with that.
"She always smiled when she was little, so we would call her smiley Miley, and it just stuck."
And she actually ended up legally changing her name in 2008 to officially be Miley.
Billy Ray told US Weekly that she'll always be Destiny Hope in his eyes as he shared the explanation: "She’s a giver. She believes that we’re all put here for a reason, and that’s to give back to our fellow man. I’m real proud of her.
"That’s why we named her Destiny Hope. Destiny Hope Cyrus is her name - at least it used to be.
"But no matter what you call her, she still is Destiny Hope. She is a ray of sunshine. She is a special human being. She’s got a great heart."
