Molly-Mae has revealed the breaking point in her and Tommy Fury's relationship ahead of their shock split.

Back in August, the former Love Island star made the shock admission that she had separated from the boxer via Instagram, telling her followers: "I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way."

Months of speculation about what had caused the pair to separate followed, with the 25-year-old boxer revealing his drinking habits were the cause of their relationship breakdown in a recent interview.

"The reason me and Molly broke up [is] because I got addicted to alcohol," he said in the interview with MensHealth.

"I couldn't be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. It kills me to say it, but I couldn't."

Molly-Mae has now also opened up on the boxer's alcohol problem in her new documentary Molly-Mae: Behind It All, revealing how attending her older sister's wedding became a breaking point for her.

The first three episodes of the six-part documentary are available to watch on PrimeVideo today (17 January) with the remaining episodes scheduled to air in the springtime.

"He’s never had an alcohol problem, it’s just that alcohol causes problem for us," she explained.

“It got to the point that I wasn’t really looking forward to anything because alcohol affected it so much."

Reflecting on sister Zoe's Lake District nuptials, Molly-Mae explained that she'd 'begged' Tommy not to drink at the event.

"At my sister's wedding, I literally pleaded with Tommy, like I begged him to not drink, and it’s just, I don’t know, it’s just so sad," she said to the camera, before breaking down in tears.

"It affected me. That’s why my relationship with alcohol is really damaged. When you reflect on it, it’s really hard."

The influencer also sat down to discuss Tommy's drinking with her mother Debbie in the documentary series, admitting that she couldn't think of a time where her then-partner's drinking habits hadn't ended in something 'disastrous'.

"I could only cite a couple of examples where he had some alcohol and it's not led to anything disastrous," Debbie told her daughter, to which Molly-Mae replied: "I mean, I actually don't know any. I really don't."

Molly-Mae and Tommy first locked eyes on each other during the 2019 series of ITV's Love Island. They'd go on to finish in second place and remained a couple for five years, going on to get engaged and welcoming daughter Bambi together.

Elsewhere in the documentary, Molly-Mae also shut down the online claims that Tommy cheating was the reason they separated.

"People genuinely believe everything they read," she said, adding: "I was getting messages from people quite close to me about, ‘Oh, we’re really sorry to hear he’s gotten somebody pregnant’, ‘I’m really sorry to hear he’s been with this person’.

"And I was just like, where is this coming from?"
