Oliver Tree’s team have said they will be honouring the late musician’s ‘final wish’ is an emotional new statement.
Tree, whose full name is Oliver Tree Nickell, died in a helicopter crash in Brazil on 14 June, aged just 32.
In a new post shared to his Instagram account, Tree’s team have now confirmed that his body is back in California, where he ‘can finally rest’.
Shortly after his passing, Tree’s appearance on the Zach Sang Show from April resurfaced in which he spoke about his plans for his wealth after his passing.

In the interview, which was recorded just weeks before his tragic death, Tree explained that he didn’t feel that ‘any of the wealth’ he had made from his music really belonged to him, and spoke of his plans to set up a foundation, which would redistribute his money back into the arts.

Now, his team has confirmed that it will be going ahead with the foundation in Tree’s memory.
In a post shared on Sunday (22 June) on Tree’s official Instagram account, the team wrote: “Rest in peace Oliver Tree Nickell June 29th, 1993 - June 14th, 2026
“Your legacy will live on forever. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, shown love, support and has done incredible tributes for Oliver. The constant love, support and positivity is helping the family, friends and collaborators make it through these extremely difficult times.
“Oliver is now back in California where he can finally rest. His legacy will live on through his foundation/endowment named 'Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Grant For Baby Geniuses' coming soon.
"This is something that Oliver had put together before his passing, written in his will. We will make sure his wish comes to fruition so that more joy, love and art can be spread into the world, that was his final wish.
“Love you all so much, Oliver would be so proud of every one of his supporters, friends and family.
“Peace be with Oliver.”
Speaking about his plans for his fortune after he died, Tree said: "So when I die — I've set it up — my will is set up that when I pass, my family, no one's going to get a penny.
"The idea is, when I die, all the money is going to go back to the arts.
“So I’ve set up a foundation, it’s called Dr. Oliver Tree's Art Grants for Baby Geniuses and it’s set up so that basically the interest generated from my music, we’ll take mostly that, but there’s also room for other money, because when I die, my art will continue - and probably be worth more than it is now.”
He went on to explain that a committee will be tasked with deciding where the money will go, before adding: “Hopefully it’ll last for 100 years.”
