Let’s be honest, no matter what else they’ve done in their relationship or achieved in their careers since, whenever most of us hear Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s names, there’s one thing we think of.
That photo, obviously.
Way back now, all the way in 2016, the pair were photographed paddle boarding on holiday. And while Perry was in a bikini, as we all know Bloom was totally nude.
Even the singer has dragged back up the viral image, as she previously reshared it and labelled him a ‘wild stallion’ on social media.

And Bloom ended up revealing the ‘truth’ about his manhood as it’s often been brought up since.
Appearing on The Howard Stern Show in the years that followed, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor said that his penis actually ‘is not that big.'
“Things are expanded on cameras with a big optical lens. It is an optical illusion,” Bloom explained.
With the viral photo picking up so much attention, the actor wasn’t exactly naive to it and in a 2017 interview with Elle UK, he candidly addressed it.
“Are we going to talk about my penis?” the star said to open up the conversation.
But while he jokes about it, it seems Bloom does have a relative sense of disbelief at how things went down.
“Yes, it was extremely surprising,” he said in reflection of the somewhat invasive snap during their holiday together.
“We'd been completely alone for five days. Nothing around us. There was no way anyone could get anything," Bloom explained, describing the rare freedom he felt in that setting. "So I had a moment of feeling free."
And sure, the Hollywood star and his pop singer partner might be pretty used to being the spotlight and snapped by paparazzi, but he was still taken aback by the situation.
“I've been photographed a million times in a million ways. I have a good radar," he said, before conceding, "But clearly, not good enough."
During a 2020 appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Perry said Bloom had encouraged her to go without clothes too.
"He tried to get to to strip and I was like, 'nah,'" she recalled. She explained her hesitation, saying: "In the back of my mind, I am like Jim Carrey in The Truman Show a little bit, so I thought maybe there would be a chance of being photographed."
Perry added that during their European vacation, nudity seemed commonplace.
“Everywhere we looked, it was like everybody was naked. It was Europe, it was Italy, and I think he wanted to fit in with the locals," she said.
Oh well, one of the most viral celeb images lives on whether Bloom thinks it’s accurate or not.
