People think Katy Perry just exposed why she split up with Orlando Bloom

The couple split after six years of being engaged

Katy Perry's split from fiancé Orlando Bloom came as a shock earlier this year, after six years of being engaged, but now the singer-songwriter has seemingly given us a bit of gossip as to why it might have happened.

The celebrity duo share a four-year-old daughter and had been engaged since 2019, so it was a real surprise when it was confirmed that they'd called an end to their relationship, especially given she'd described him as a 'wild stallion' not long before.

In a joint statement issued to US media outlets in July, representatives for the couple said the pair 'have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting'.

"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is - and always will be - raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect."

The two have become embroiled in a bizarre legal battle since splitting, although it's with an elderly neighbour rather than each other, while Perry has also had a wild few months, which include going to space and dating former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau.

After Bloom wished his former partner nothing but the best, it seemed as if things had remained rather civil between the pair, which you would hope for given they are still co-parenting their child together.

However, it seems as if the singer is very much blowing Hot N Cold towards her former lover, with plenty of people presuming that her latest song 'Bandaids' is taking shots at the Pirates of the Caribbean star.

In the new release, she sings: “Hand to God, I promise I tried / There’s no stone left unturned,” she sings. “It’s not what you did / It’s what you didn’t / You were there, but you weren’t.

“Got so used to you letting me down / No use tryna send flowers now,” she also sings. “Telling myself you’ll change, you don’t / Band-Aids over a broken heart.”

Her potential criticisms don't stop there however, as she goes into even more detail in the second verse, adding:

“Tried all the medications / Lowered my expectations. Made every justification / Bleeding out, bleeding out, bleeding out slow.

“It’s not that complicated / To ask me how my day is. I’m flatlining trying to save this.”

But despite all her complaints, it seems as if she has no regrets, as she goes on to suggest that she'd do it all over again if she could, and you'd hope so too, given that the relationship led to her having her first child.

Naturally, it's easy to assume that she's talking abut Bloom in her song, rather than her first husband Russell Brand, but she certainly seems to be happy since meeting Trudeau, with one source suggesting that he thinks of her as 'the perfect woman'.
