Julia Fox has come out as pansexual in a recent interview – but what does it mean?
The 35-year-old clarified her sexuality in an interview with Allure, saying: "I'm pansexual; I could be attracted to anyone and anything."
The actor and social media personality, who famously dated Kanye West in 2022, had previously alluded to being a lesbian, telling The Times last year that she would be up for having a relationship with a woman.
"I’d definitely be up for a relationship with a woman. You cannot equate that to a relationship with a man," she added.
Pansexuality explained
Pansexuality is defined as an attraction to a person regardless of their biological sex or gender.

The term is similar to bisexual, which describes a person who is attracted to more than one gender, however, a pansexual individual can be attracted to a person regardless of their gender.

Pansexuality is often considered to fall under the broader bisexual umbrella.
"For some people, gender is not a defining characteristic of the attraction they feel to others," explains The Trevor Project.
"And for other pansexual people, gender is a significant part of their experience of attraction; liking masculine and feminine qualities for different reasons."

According to recent statistics shared by Office for National Statistics (ONS), an estimated 0.23 percent of the population describe themselves as pansexual, compared to 1.28 percent of people who identify as bisexual or 1.54 percent who say they are gay or lesbian.
It's all about the 'vibes' for Julia Fox
When it comes to Fox, she describes her attraction to people as 'vibes', adding: "If it were just down to the physical, I'm more attracted to the female body.
"Men don't do it for me at all [physically], but I can be attracted to a man's mind. I'm a vibes person."
Fox went on to add that she often thinks that women can have a harder time realising they aren't straight, telling the outlet that she thinks this is due to being 'so programmed' towards men.

"I think women have a harder time [realising they’re queer] because we are so programmed to perform for men," Fox continued.
Outside of her brief relationship with West, she was previously married to pilot Peter Artemiev, with whom she shares a four-year-old son.
The actor went on to reveal that some of her close female friendships could be classed as relationships.
"Looking back, I'm like, 'Oh my God, we were in a relationship'," she added.

"But there was no way I was going to admit that to myself, and I couldn't because so much of my survival was hinged upon men taking care of me."
