Paris Jackson reunites with mum in rare photo after being raised by Dad Michael

Many people know Paris Jackson for her modelling or music career, but primarily, because she is the only daughter of the late Michael Jackson.

But recently, Paris has made headlines after she posted a snap with her mum, Debbie Rowe.

Rowe, 67, is a nurse who was also the second wife of The King of Pop, birthing both Paris and Prince Jackson in the late 1990s.

Unlike their brother Bigi (Blanket), the two older siblings are not alone when it comes to parental figures in their lives, nearly 20 years on from the death of their superstar father.

Paris, 27, shared some wholesome snaps with her mum on her Instagram story on 26 February, with one of the photos featuring the pair in cream-coloured tops, captioned with a heart emoji and the word, 'Lately'.

Many may not know much about Paris' mum, or think that she was involved much in her children's lives, given that all three of Jackson's kids were primarily raised by him.

Rowe though, gave up custody of her children in 1999 when she divorced from Jackson, with Paris only reconnecting with her mother in her teenage years.

Speaking with Rolling Stone back in 2017, the actress admitted: "When I was really, really young, my mom didn’t exist."

She even asked her dad about her biological mother, as she learned that 'a man can't birth a child'.

That's not to say that Paris had a shortage of mother figures while growing up though, as she said she 'had a lot', such as her grandmother Katherine Jackson and aunt Janet Jackson.

Paris admitted at the time: "By the time my mom came into my life, it wasn’t a ‘mommy’ thing, it’s more of an adult relationship.”

The pair have been close since, with Paris staying by her mum's side which she battled cancer back in 2016.

Taking to Instagram, Paris said 10 years ago: "I'm a fighter because she's a fighter. Love you mom."

More recently, Paris said that the relationship with her mum was 'cool' in a 2021 appearance on the Smith family's Red Table Talk.

She added: "Getting to know her, seeing how similar we are, getting into what kind of music she likes—and she really likes country and folk."

Paris acknowledged that they look apart, saying that it was 'cool having her as a friend', describing their bond as 'chill', adding that 'it's the perfect word to describe it'.
