Michael Jackson's daughter Paris is seeking over half a billion dollars from the family estate after allegedly waiting more than 17 years since her father's death to receive any money.
The King of Pop passed away back in 2009 but his three children, Paris, Prince and Bigi are seemingly yet to receive any of the money that the legendary musician left behind.
Amid all the allegations which have surrounded Jackson since his death, which the family estate have long maintained are a 'desperate money grab', his children now want to claim the money which they believe is their right.
In a new court filing, Paris explained that despite the family estate continuing to rake in billions since her father's death, thanks to projects such as the Michael biopic earlier this year, she is yet to receive the cash she was promised. The documents which were filed on 29 October, see Paris claim that 'more than 17 years after his passing, Michael Jackson’s family trust remains unfunded'.

Terms laid out in the family trust suggest that his three children were due to start receiving income from their respective shares when they turned 21, before more portions would be allocated to them when they turned 30.

However, they claim to have not received that income when they each turned 21 and with Prince set to turn 30 in February 2027, Paris clearly feels that the time is right for her and her siblings to ask for more.
In the petition, Paris argues that the family estate's executor, John Branca, currently determines how much money they can receive, leading to a lack of financial independence.
Since the family estate has also made several multi-million sales since Jackson's death, including the sale of the Neverland Ranch and a 2023 deal with Sony involving Michael’s music, it's easy to see why they might want to claim a share of that estate, especially when it is valued between $2 and $3 billion, according to the filing.
This is only the latest filing issued by Paris, who has long taken issue with the way that her father's finances have been handled since his death nearly two decades ago.
However, the Michael Jackson Estate says it cannot fully fund the trusts until several legal matters are resolved, which include an ongoing litigation with the Internal Revenue Service after it sought around $700 million in taxes and penalties.

An Estate spokesperson told PEOPLE: “The Estate was able to secure a ruling to significantly reduce that amount, but the matter has not been settled and could still change."
It also disputed the claims made by Jackson's children and alleged that over $200 million has already been distributed to them, while also maintaining the stance in the musician's will that 'none of his children receive a distribution until they are in their 30s'.
“The Estate looks forward to the time when all issues are resolved so that their trusts can be fully funded as Michael wanted,” the statement concluded.
But a spokesperson for Paris hit back at these claims, stating: “The Estate is once again deflecting from its own incompetence. Paris called for the trust to be partially funded, something Mr. Branca had the ability and obligation to do long ago. After years of delay, Paris had no choice but to step in herself."
LADbible has contacted the Estate for further comment.
