Shortly before he died RJ Mitte expressed an interest in returning to the world of Breaking Bad as he thought there was 'more to be told' in that world and an interesting avenue to explore.
The 34-year-old actor died yesterday (12 October), his representatives confirmed, with a slew of tributes pouring in from his co-stars and fans.
His on-screen father Bryan Cranston said he was in 'deep despair' to hear of Mitte's death, saying he was a 'really fine actor' and a 'sweet' individual.
Earlier this month Mitte had appeared on The Joe Vulpis Podcast where he'd spoken about the experience of working on Breaking Bad and how he thought there could have been more to see in that world.

He'd said: "I don’t think it was an end. I think it was really the end of Heisenberg’s journey, but I don’t think that was the end of Skyler and Walt and Holly’s journey.

"And you know I think there’s a lot of unanswered questions there, that for them will probably never be answered. So I think there’s still a big step for the White family.
"There’s always more to be told. But you got to tell it right!"
He had said that any follow-up would have a very high bar to clear and while he did 'want to top Breaking Bad' it would be 'the hardest' thing to do.
"I set a bar for myself as a young man that is kinda unattainable. I tell people, I say, ‘Look, it’s a long way down from the top of the mountain.'," he'd said on the podcast as he discussed the possibility of ever returning to the character of Walter Jr.
The Breaking Bad world had some remarkable success with spin-offs, sequels and prequels as El Camino followed Jesse Pinkman's (Aaron Paul) fate after the end of the series.

Meanwhile Better Call Saul followed Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) for the years before and after.
The last we heard of the White family after Walt's death, Skyler (Anna Gunn) had secured a deal with the police, while show creator Vince Gilligan confirmed that Walter Jr would have got some of his father's money through a deal he secured with Elliott (Adam Godley) and Gretchen (Jessica Hecht) in the final episode.
There may have been space to explore how the family lived in the aftermath of Walt's drug empire collapsing, with those he claimed to do it all for dealing with his destructive legacy, though Gilligan had said it was unlikely there would be more shows in that world.
While his appearance on the podcast was his final interview, Mitte's last social media activity was him promoting his upcoming movie One Eye Open which is due to release later this year.
