If you need a reminder of why the world still needs radio phone-in segments, this might be it.
One brazen caller belled up Hits Radio and seriously put Sam Thompson on the spot while he was live on air on Thursday (9 April) morning.
Listeners were left spitting out their cornflakes while tuning into the breakfast show, as a fan comically quizzed Thompson about a very tender topic.
The TV star, 33, was standing in for regular hosts Fleur East, Will Best and James Barr when he decided to host an 'Ask Me Anything' segment.

But he quickly ended up regretting this, as one caller named Holly didn't hold back when she got her turn to speak to Thompson.
Take a look at this:
While live on air with thousands of people hanging off of his every word, Thompson was brutally asked: "How do you feel about playing the song from One Direction, 'Steal My Girl', knowing that one of the 1D boys did actually steal your girl?”
The I'm A Celeb winner's eyes comically widened while he covered his mouth in sheer shock after hearing what Holly had to say.
After taking a few seconds to weigh up his response, he replied through gritted teeth: "Holly, I am live on air!"
For those who don't know, Thompson was in a relationship with fellow former Made in Chelsea star Zara McDermott for five years.
The pair called time on their relationship in December 2024 and his ex has since moved on with singer Louis Tomlinson, who shot to fame with the band born out of The X Factor back in 2010.

Thompson is also in a new relationship with Talitha Balinska, a model and DJ - and he's been hailed for how he navigated this tricky topic off the cuff.
Instead of dodging the contentious question, the London-born star told Hits Radio listeners: "How do I feel? First of all - and I mean this when I say it - it’s a brilliant song. I still listen to it on the tube.
“I know that sounds weird, but I listen to it on the tube all the time...I don't actually feel weird about it, because I feel quite happy, as long as everyone else is happy.
"I think everyone has found their person. And I think that's really, really nice."
Thompson went on to reveal that he has previously met his former flame's new fella and described Tomlinson as a 'really nice dude'.
"I've actually met said guy, and he seems like a really nice dude, so I feel pretty good about it, to be fair," he added. "And it is an absolute banger. Everyone is looking for love, you know."
Fans reckon Thompson managed to expertly avert any awkwardness with his response, as one person commented on the clip: "What a guy. He handled that immaculately."

Another added: "The media training that boy has had!!! YOU DESERVE AN AWARD SAM."
A third wrote: "He handled that so well, easily could’ve gone a different direction (pardon the pun). Sam comes across as a nice dude, respect."
While a fourth chimed in saying: "What a way to respond, such a respectful answer."
Others were more preoccupied with how Holly had mustered the gumption to ask such a toe-curling question so early in the morning.
"The audacity to say this directly to him on a radio," one person laughed, while another giggled: "The delivery of this question is impeccable."
A third joked: "Holly woke up and chose violence for her breakfast," while a fourth dubbed it the 'best radio call of all time'.
I wonder if McDermott and Tomlinson were stuck in traffic listening to Hits Radio on Thursday morning, eh?
