Selena Gomez has reportedly lost 715k followers in the last 30 days after sharing a video of herself crying over Donald Trump's actions in his first week in office.

The Only Murders in the Building star, 32, appeared to be visibly upset a day after the newly sworn-in US president ordered a nationwide immigration crackdown, in which the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said there were 956 arrests last week.

Now, according to Social Blade, the 'Calm Down' singer has lost over 715,000 followers in the last 30 days, at the time of writing.

The follower loss may, or may not, be down the video she shared on 27 January, in which she said: "All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand.

"I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise."

Shortly after, she took the video down and uploaded an image of a black screen with the words: “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.”

Meanwhile, ICE statistics have revealed that over 1,000 people were removed or repatriated last week.

Trump said the state of the US-Mexico border was a 'national emergency', and has ordered American armed forces to police the border.

He claims that Mexican drug cartels are 'foreign terrorist organisations', and that automatic citizenship granted to children of undocumented immigrants that were born in the country will now be limited.

This comes after Kim Kardashian reportedly lost just under 150,000 followers on Instagram after sharing a photo of First Lady Melania Trump.

The Kardashians star, 44, uploaded a picture of Trump's wife from his inauguration, which saw him become America’s 47th president.

Taking to the platform, she seemingly shared a photo of Melania's outfit, made by New York designer Adam Lippes.

However, it appears some may have taken it as a 'political stance,' even though the mum-of-four never publicly disclosed who she was voting for in the Presidential election.

According to influencer marketing agency Socially Powerful, her follower count dropped by 144,963 last week, as reported by the New York Post.

But the internet seemed to be pointing out how little of an impact it has made on her remaining 359 million followers.

"I’m sure she’ll recover," one person tweeted, as a second agreed: "Literally nothing for her."

"It’s going to take at least 4 years for society to recalibrate," a third person joked.

"OMG! How will I ever sleep tonight knowing this? BBBWWAAAHAHAHAHAHA," another wrote.
