When the cast of Stuart Little were making the movie in 1999, based on a beloved book series, they probably didn’t think they’d be making a cult classic that would still be being discussed nearly 30 years later.
With a script penned by M Night Shyamalan (yes, that M Night Shyamalan) the film focuses on a young mouse adopted by a human family.
In the movie Stuart has a young brother, George, with a major plot point being about him coming to accept that his little brother is now a rodent.
Played by the celebrity child actor Jonathan Lipnicki, the bond between George and Stuart, who isn’t actually even a mouse, is a stand-out part of the film.

This was 27 years ago however and Lipnicki is now 35, but his role as Stuart’s brother actually kick-started his career.
Lipnicki is now a film producer, and admitted he stopped acting for a while because he ‘wasn’t very good’

Lipnicki a few years ago joined ‘Buffalo 8’, a production company that has contributed towards hit TV shows and films such as Netflix’s Woman of the Hour, Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes, and BlacKKKlansman.
He spoke very frankly in an interview last year with People magazine, saying he ‘wasn’t where he wanted to be’ in his career.
He said: “It's totally fine to say I'm not where I want to be career-wise… Everything we're doing in this life is nearly impossible.”
“This is the thing I want to do for the rest of my life, and I think you just have to believe it's going to happen and do everything in your power to take action in the right direction.”
As a child star he also appeared in Jerry Maguire, but claimed he wasn’t a very good actor for a ‘long time’. He told Variety: “The biggest transition for me was…I didn’t work for a long time. And people always frame that as, ‘Oh, I went to high school,’ and whatnot. And that’s the story that people tell sometimes when they don’t work.
“Or if they’re a child actor or whatever, they took time off. I did take time off, in the sense that it wasn’t the only priority I had. But I didn’t work because I just didn’t work. I didn’t really get any roles for a while.
“I’m honest about that. And it was because [I] wasn’t a very good actor at one point.”
In addition to his work as a producer now he does work occasionally as an actor, is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, and calls himself a ‘dogfather’.
Stuart Little was not a mouse, but a tiny human boy (no, really)
Whilst looking into what Lipnicki was up to, many fans may have not realised the revelation that many on social media came across recently – that Stuart Little is not a mouse.
The books tell the true story, suggesting that he is not a mouse, but a ‘normal human boy in every way, except that he is two inches tall and looks exactly like a mouse’.
This is never explicitly stated in the films, but does perhaps explain how a mouse is able to operate a remote control boat or talk – but it’s still freaky to imagine.

One fan tweeted: “I’ve just now learned that in the STUART LITTLE book, Stuart is not actually a mouse but a human boy who looks like a mouse, and I don’t know how to process this.”
Another said: “the reason the movie doesn't include that is because it's the dumbest thing ever written.”
Bit harsh, but pretty accurate if you ask me…
