People extremely confused after realising how old Thomas Brodie-Sangster was in Nanny McPhee

I want to know where Thomas Brodie-Sangster is hiding the fountain of youth

Thomas Brodie-Sangster's ability to defy age has left the internet baffled for many years.

From the moment he made his acting debut in 2003's Love Actually, up until his recent marriage to actress Talulah Riley, Brodie-Sangster has left fans around the world by his apparent ability to never age.

Despite everyone being well aware of the actor's ageless face, fans are still routinely shocked after doing the math and working out his age in various films.

The latest film to leave fans of the actor open-mouthed is Nanny McPhee where the star played Simon, the eldest of the unruly Brown children. Here's a photo of Brodie-Sangster playing Simon to refresh your memory:

How old would you guess he is in the film - six, seven, eight maybe? Well, it turns out he's a lot older than you'd realise and fans have been left speechless by his true age.

Nanny McPhee premiered in 2005, with filming taking place around a year prior - this means that Brodie-Sangster was well into his teenage years at the time.

"If aging only on leap year was a person," one person commented on a viral post about his age in the film, while another joked: "Legend has it he's still six."

"Bro probably gets ID checked at every pub every single time," a third said.

For anyone who still refuses to believe this fresh-faced youngster could be a teenager, it's time to sit down and do the maths.

Brodie-Sangster was born on 6 May 1990, making him 34-years-old at the time of writing.

Filming for Nanny McPhee reportedly took place from 1 April until 9 July 2004, meaning the actor was just shy of his 14th birthday when the cameras were rolling.

Granted, being 13-years-old is barely into your teenage years and having a babyface is nothing uncommon - however it's Brodie-Sangster's ability to completely defy age well into his thirties that continues to wow fans around the world.

Fascination with Brodie-Sangster's appearance of eternal youth isn't something new, with the actor even being asked about how he manages to remain so fresh faced.

During an interview with the Cambridge University Student Union back in 2022, the Game of Thrones star was asked about how he manages to stay looking young.

The question clearly left the actor taken aback, as he replied: "I've always looked at least three to four years younger than what I actually am, and I don't know why that is. It just seems to be the way.
