Thomas Brodie-Sangster asked what his secret is to looking much younger than actual age

Thomas Brodie-Sangster asked what his secret is to looking much younger than actual age

Thomas never seems to age

It was only a matter of time before somebody started asking questions about Thomas Brodie-Sangster and his forever-youthful face.

Whether he's running through an airport to tell a girl he's in love with her in Love Actually, or through mazes as part of a dystopian experiment in Maze Runner, Thomas has always been a regular on TV and film screens.

From 11 when he got his first acting job, to 32 it looks as though Thomas has hardly aged a day.

After years of wondering, Thomas has finally addressed his youthful looks and put our minds at ease.

The Nanny McPhee star, who is dating Talulah Riley, was giving an interview with Cambridge Union back August when one audience member asked him: "What is your secret to eternal youth?"

At first, Thomas was taken aback by the question - though I can't imagine why. This has got to be a regular occurrence for him.

"I don't know. Erm, genes?" he suggested at first.

"I've always looked at least three to four years younger than what I actually am, and I don't know why that is. It just seems to be the way

"To me, I just look like me. People always ask me that."

While we're on the topic of Thomas Brodie-Sangster's eternally youthful face, and since it's coming up to that time of year, I might as well be the first to remind you of the shocking age-gap between Thomas and Keira Knightly.

Yes, every Christmas when Love Actually becomes the favourite topic of conversation, more and more people learn that there were only five years between co-stars Thomas and Keira.

While Keira was just 18 at the time, Thomas had just turned 13.

If you don't have a word-for-word memory of the film like I do, then let me explain why this is so wild.

In the 2001 rom-com, Keira Knightly plays Juliet, a woman who has just married mature-looking husband Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor). Though they're newlyweds, they couple have at least been together long enough for Peter's best pal Mark (Andrew Lincoln) to fall in love with her.

Meanwhile, Thomas plays Sam, a school boy who looks around ten years old and is in love with his classmate despite having never spoken to her.

When you put think about it, it's pretty wild that these characters at two completely different life stages in their lives were just five years apart.

If this is new information to you, then please be my guest and share the gift of shock and discomfort with your friends this Christmas. It's never to early.
