Tom Skinner’s wife opens up about reality of his affair for first time after woman spoke out

Tom Skinner's wife has revealed what she did when The Apprentice star told her about his affair.

The TV personality, 34, who rose to fame on the BBC series in 2019, got married to Sinéad Chambers three years later, after she convinced the multiple-business owner to apply.

Ahead of his recent debut on Strictly, however, the mum-of-three was distraught when Skinner received ‘about 200 death threats’ following his apparent friendship with JD Vance - before the cheating revelations became public.

Skinner, who became the first celebrity to leave with his pro-partner Amy Dowden, told The Sun: “I loved the dancing, I really did. And I made a friend for life in Amy. But if I knew the amount of hurt it would bring to my family, I wouldn’t have done it.

“Financially, it was a good thing to do. The abuse was horrendous. I had about 200 death threats on social media.”

After Skinner went public with his affair, he said the moment he told Sinéad what happened was ‘terrible’ and ‘the worst thing [he’s] ever had to do’.

It came after Amy Lucy O’Rourke, 35, spoke out last month, claiming to be the woman he had an affair with.

A spokesperson for the businesswoman, who runs an aesthetics clinic in Brentwood, Essex, called it an 'incredibly stressful chapter in her life'.

Speaking to the outlet from the family home, Sinéad said she was absolutely 'devastated' when he confessed to her what happened.

She said: “When he first told me what had happened I made him leave. I was devastated.

“I will never forget Thomas telling me. I remember thinking, ‘I never thought this would happen to me’. It was one of the worst days of my life. I only told one friend, nobody else.

“But we eventually worked it out. I just knew how much I love him and I wanted to work it out.”

The full-time mum, who used to work as a PA, added: “He made a mistake. It was a tough time. One of his friends had just died.

“It was four years ago. Now we are stronger than ever. We have moved on.

“He has learned from it and we have since had our twin daughters.

“But then, after he signed up for Strictly, it all came out in public. It has been hell.

“The response from Thomas doing Strictly has been a test for us all. It was horrendous. I cried — everybody knowing about this difficult chapter in our lives nearly four years ago was awful. It was in the past for us.”
