The family of Victoria Jones has spoken out for the first time since her death.
Daughter of Tommy Lee Jones, the 34-year-old was found unresponsive and pronounced dead in a San Francisco hotel on New Year’s Day.
Victoria had followed in her dad’s footsteps, having made TV and film appearances as a child actor in the likes of One Tree Hill and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada.
Most notably of course, in 2002, she acted alongside him in Men in Black II and would often be spotted attending celebrity events with him over the years.

Victoria was the second and youngest child of the Lincoln actor and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. It was confirmed by the San Francisco Fire Department that it responded to a medical emergency at the Fairmont hotel just before 3am on Thursday (1 January).

The San Francisco Police Department also confirmed to PEOPLE that it has responded to the hotel and met with paramedics.
A spokesperson said: “At the scene, officers met with medics, who declared the adult female deceased. The Medical Examiner arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD."
And Tommy’s family has now issued a statement to the outlet for the first time since reports began circulating.
“We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers,” they said on Friday.
“Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you."
The official cause of Victoria’s death has not yet been confirmed and a police source told NBC Bay Area that the force do not suspect any foul play in relation.
Following the death at the hotel, Fairmont San Francisco press director Michelle Heston told PEOPLE: “We are deeply saddened by an incident that occurred at the hotel on January 1, 2026. Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time.

“The hotel team is actively cooperating and supporting police authorities within the framework of the ongoing investigation."
While Victoria stepped away from acting, her father previously praised her abilities back in 2006 as he told The New Yorker: “She's a good actress, has her Sag card, speaks impeccable Spanish."
Explaining her skills for having a second language, the star added: “When she was a baby, I told Leticia, her nurse, to speak to her in Spanish."
