She might be many of ours ‘first lady’ of Hollywood, but Zendaya hasn’t totally got the etiquette down with the officials it seems.
The 30-year-old stepped out for the Louis Vuitton Paris Fashion Week finale yesterday (6 October) at the Cour Carrée du Louvre.
But while plenty of us have been admiring her white ruffled jacket (recycled from the Odyssey press tour), others have called the star out for ‘lacking manners’.
This comes as a clip has gone viral of Zendaya meeting France’s First Lady, Brigitte Macron, on the front row.

Some users say it’s ‘painful to watch’, as the Dune actor fails to stand up to greet Macron who seems to try and get her attention after Bernard Arnault, LVMH’s chairman and chief executive officer.

Originally shared by Paris Match on TikTok, we see Zendaya shaking hands with Arnault from her seat before turning to face the other way, appearing to say hi to someone else.
However, behind Arnault is the French First Lady.
And Macron can be heard saying: “Hello, Bonjour. Bonjour,” as it seems she is attempting to get the Spider-Man star’s attention.
Within moments, Zendaya spots the First Lady, smiling, saying hi and shaking her hand with a polite and friendly nod.
Macron then moves to take her seat on the other side of Arnault. While this all seemed pretty friendly and cordial, some people aren’t particularly impressed with Zendaya’s handling of the situation.
Now, it’s worth pointing out here that she may have not noticed Macron approaching, may have not realised who she was, may have needed to stay seated and may have simply been caught by surprise. We’re all human after all.

But users have commented to say: “Zendaya, you stand up!!!”
“Girllll they are the owners,” another added.
Across social media, users are divided, with many agreeing: “Zendaya girl… you gotta get up when the First Lady of France is trying to say hello to you.”
"Its a matter of etiquette," another put.
"Standing up when someone approaches to greet you is basic manners," one chimed.
Others have suggested: “Zendaya 100 percent did not know who that was.”
“I think she’s a little nervous y’all,” another said. “It’s not a deal breaker not to stands when greeting people, but I agree that it’s more polite.”
With many agreeing: “Zendaya can do no wrong.”
And some even slammed: "Lol nah she shouldn't. It's just another human, no better than herself. Status is nothing in a world full of everything."
The LADbible Group has contacted representatives for Zendaya for comment.
