Chris Pratt's new series has really divided people. Have a look at the trailer below:

Based on the best-selling novel by Jack Carr, The Terminal List sees Pratt star as James Reece, a Navy SEAL suffering with memory problems.

After his entire platoon is ambushed, he returns home but struggles to deal with the grief and guilt regarding his own culpability.

However, he soon discovers that dark forces have been working against him, endangering not only his life but the lives of those he loves, and tries to uncover the truth.

Sounds great, right? Well, not everyone agrees.

Since it landed on Amazon Prime last month, the series has been met with mixed reviews.

For example, critics on Rotten Tomatoes have given it a score of just 40 percent while fans have scored it a whopping 94 percent.

Some critics haven't taken to Chris Pratt's new series.

So let's have a look at what is grinding the gears of the experts, shall we?

"If you enjoyed Jack Ryan and Reacher, this is the show the algorithm would say you should watch next. Ignore it," said one.

Echoing the lacklustre reaction, another chimed: "It’s familiar to a fault, a tired and tiring series unfurling on Independence Day weekend for those looking for a low-stakes post-barbecue watch, a slab of barely heated red meat that’s all extremely hard-to-chew gristle."

While another added: "This is a dour, miserable sit, one that would be tough to take as a two-hour film, and has been inexplicably 'roided up to eight hours."

Ouch.

The actor stars as a Navy SEAL struggling to cope after his platoon is ambushed.

But it's not all bad news for the Jurassic World star, there are plenty of viewers who have absolutely loved it.

So far away from the critics are they that many are already calling for a second season.

"Excellent show! I thought it had started off slow, then BOOM! Couldn't stop watching," wrote on. "Thrilling, exciting with a twist. Very well done! I hope there is a season 2."

And taking aim at the so called experts, another hit back: "Excellent! Well done. It grabs you right from the start and won't let you go! Chris Pratt is awesome! Ignore the critics and go with the audience rating.

"It just goes to show that if you want to watch something good, look for rotten reviews from critics who don't know squat!"

The Terminal List is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
