Arriving in cinemas very soon, DC League of Super-Pets is an upcoming animated movie that allows audiences an insight into the world of the pets of some of DC’s most famous superheroes.
This family friendly film follows Krypto the Superdog (not only Superman's pet but also his best friend) as he forms a crew of ‘shelter pets’ to try and save the day, rescuing the Justice League!

Throughout the trailer it's made obvious that even though DC fans will be excited to see the appearance of the Justice League, the main character of this movie is Superman's dog; Krypto (voiced by Dwayne Johnson). Krypto is seen donning his classic comic-style look: White generic pedigree dog, a gold collar with a miniature copy of the famed Superman "S" symbol and of course his very own red cape. Near the start of this trailer, Superman (who is voiced by John Krasinski) is heard saying that his “dog is the best, but not the greatest with other animals”. Throughout this action/comedy, Krypto will have to learn how to work as part of a team to ensure the safety of his master, saving the world with a team of shelter animals who gain god-like powers.

Who are the DC League of Super-Pets?
There have been many iterations of the League of Super-Pets, with the first super-pet crossover story being published in Action Comics #277 in 1961. The original membership included Krypto the Superdog, Streaky the Supercat, Beppo the Super-Monkey and Comet the Super-Horse. In this movie however it will be Krypto who will headline this adventure.

However this is not Krypto's first appearance outside the world of comics, as he was as a companion of Superboy in the 1966 television cartoon The New Adventures of Superman. Apart from this he has also been in other DC animated television shows, as well as making an appearance in the videogame Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham.
Nevertheless, this is the first time Krypto’s character will be flying onto the big screens, where Dawayne Johnson will no doubt show off the character’s powers in a comedic fashion throughout this PG rated movie.
