Seán Dermot Fintan O'Leary Jr., better known as Dermot O’Leary, is an English broadcaster and presenter who works for The BBC and ITV.

O'Leary made his first radio appearance in his hometown as a disc jockey for Essex Radio (now Heart Essex).

Following this, he had a collection of small television roles and at one point worked as a runner for Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins on their TV show Light Lunch

As he started working his way up the greasy pole, he began to obtain roles in front of the camera. These positions included presenting the Channel 4 reality TV show Shattered in 2004. 

It was not until 2007 that O’Leary became a regular face on our TV screens, however, when he took on the role of presenting The X Factor on ITV. He quickly became a much-loved household name.

As for more unusual career moments, in 2009 Dermot O’Leary opened a fish shop in Brighton named 'Fishy Fishy'.

He opened another branch in Poole as well, though both shops have since had to close due to a lack of customers. 

The 41-year-old has also published a series of children’s books titled Toto the Ninja Cat.

These include books such as Toto the Ninja Cat and the Incredible Cheese Heist and Toto the Ninja Cat and the Great Snake Escape.

Nowadays he is probably best known for his weekend music and entertainment breakfast show on BBC Radio 2.

As for his personal life, Dermot O’Leary, married the film producer Dee Koppand in 2012, with whom he has one child.
