Why Did Fez Beat Up Nate in Euphoria Season 2?

Why Did Fez Beat Up Nate in Euphoria Season 2?

At the end of the episode, Nate was the subject of a punch-up caused by Fez. But how did Fez's fists end up in Nate's grill?

The second season of the Emmy Award-winning drama Euphoria, which stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Dominic Fike and Hunter Schafer, is well and truly underway. The hugely popular HBO high-school series didn’t waste any time in setting up for unsurprising chaos.

The drama shares a group of teenagers in high school who navigate difficult issues like toxic relationships, drug addiction, sexuality and mental health illness

The series started by focusing on Fez, the drug dealer at East Highland. It was revealed that it was his grandma who encouraged Fez to become a part of the illegal trade. Fans of the show were then introduced to how his right hand man Ashtray came to be a part of his dealings.

In true Euphoria style, season two began with a larger-than-life house party set during New Year’s Eve where Maddy wowed the rest of the group with her outfit, Jules was unsurprisingly looking for Rue and we witnessed that wherever Nate goes, trouble follows.

At the end of the episode, he was the subject of a relentless punch-up caused by Fez. But since Fez spent most of the party cosying up to Lexi on the sofa, how did his fists end up in Nate’s grill?

We see Fez getting ready to leave from Lexi’s perspective, as he calls Ashtray and tells him to start the car. He then takes off his jumper and strolls into the kitchen, where Nate is minding his own business and drinking a beer. However, it’s apparent that s***’s about to hit the fan.

Fez fetches himself a drink and chats to Nate, who remembers that he was threatened by the other teen last time they had a conversation. They then offer “cheers” to that memory as Fez breaks a bottle of alcohol over Nate’s head and punches the teen.

It’s not clear if Nate survived the attack at the end of the episode, while Maddy, McKay and the others in the group carry him out to Cutting Crew’s (I Just) Died in Your Arms. Jacob Elordi, who plays Nate in Euphoria, admitted there’s still more to Nate’s life at home - so this may not be how it ends for the character.
