Given that it's a collision of the (not real) world's two most popular superheroes, Batman v Superman has been one of the most highly anticipated films this year.

However, considering the recent success and popularity of films like Deadpool and The Avengers, could it be tough for the film to compete with them?

Nah. Batman v Superman isn't just competing with them, it's fucking smashing them.

Sources are reporting that the advance ticket sales to see Gotham's Dark Knight and the last son of Krypton go head to head is soaring ahead of Deadpool, Avengers and Furious 7's opening weekend figures.

Those three made $132.4 million, $207.4 million and $147.1 million, respectively. Different analysts have different figures for advanced ticket sales of the film, some estimating between $20-28 million, others marginalising that to $20-25 million.

"As expected, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is anticipated by the fan male audience. The audience profile is 78% male, massively over indexing between age 14-49. This is your avid opening weekend audience with some 70% attending films during opening week, spending 3.2 times more than the typical US moviegoer," chief executive of Movio, Will Palmer, said.

If all these analyses are correct, the film can expect to make over $165 million in its opening weekend.

Huge.
