If you're a British fan of the American crime series El Chapo, you'll be glad to know that the second season of the Mexican drug drama is now available for everyone's viewing pleasure on Netflix UK.

It was previously announced last month that the drama series would be available on the streaming platform for British fans starting from today, Friday 15 December.

And sure enough, if you check your Netflix UK account you can now watch some Spanish-language swearing to your heart's content. Happy Chapo everyone.

In case you haven't seen El Chapo before, the Netflix and Univision co-production is based on the real life story of one of the world's notorious criminals, Joaquain 'El Chapo' Guzmán, over the course of three decades.

Guzmán rose to become the most powerful member of the Sinaloa Cartel which transported numerous tons of illicit drugs from South America to the United States, especially cocaine. Pretty intimidating stuff.

After the first season of El Chapo covered Guzmán's descent into crime, the show's second season - which premiered back in September - explored his rise to the top of the Sinaloa Cartel.

"After eight years in prison, El Chapo escapes, and thanks to an alliance with Don Sol - a government official aspiring to be president - he takes down his enemies and turns his organisation, The Sinaloa Cartel, into the most powerful in the country," the synopsis for the season teased.

"But his ambition to become Boss of All Bosses comes with the highest price: losing his dearest son, a victim of his own war for power."

Just in case you've already rinsed the second season several times, don't worry - there is more El Chapo set to come onto your screens very soon.

The cast are currently filming the third and final season of the show, which will cover Guzmán's second escape from prison and his ultimate downfall.

El Chapo's second season is one of a number of new programmes that Netflix has announced that it's adding to its service this winter.

The pick of the other new additions include the first three series of the historical gangster series Peaky Blinders, with the fourth currently showing in the UK at the moment, as well as the second series of royal drama The Crown.

Others include the film City of God, Midnight Run and Season 9 of Doctor Who, featuring Peter Capaldi.

More than enough to keep you preoccupied as Christmas approaches, then.
