Elliot Page has made headlines with a standout role in The Odyssey as Sinon’ with many reviews raving about the actor’s return to acting 16 years after last appearing in a Christopher Nolan film.
Page has spoken in previous interviews about how the major difference in working with Nolan all these years later is that, after publicly coming out as a transgender man in 2020, he feels ‘more comfortable in yourself makes these sorts of projects more enjoyable’.
In the weeks leading up to his return in The Odyssey however Elliot Page shocked many by sharing his stark and absolutely ripped body transformation on Instagram.
Page revealed he had taken up boxing as a hobby and, in the process, gained a six pack which would put MCU superheroes to shame.

In his posts on Instagram Page extolled the benefits of boxing, however, did not explain why he had taken up or whether anything in particular had spawned this extreme body transformation.

In a new interview with The Daily Show about The Odyssey however, Page explained why he had done it. Speaking to Desi Lydic, Page was asked if he’d taken up the sport for The Odyssey, stating he hadn’t and adding: “This was technically a part of… I started because of prep for something else, we'll see if that ends up happening or not.”
He continued though, adding that the ‘real benefit’ is that he ‘fell in love with boxing’.
Page said that he loved how difficult it is from a ‘physical standpoint’ adding that he enjoyed the ‘tiny little adjustments you're making with your body to get the outcome that you want, mixed with the mental intensity of it.’
He finally said: “I can't really think about anything else when I'm doing that and I enjoy just the degree of focus and, like, physical exhaustion, honestly.”
The actor said he ‘loves his coach’ Nolan, something he added in the Instagram post that hard launched his brand new physique, saying in the caption: “He’s a brilliant teacher, not just in the way he breaks down complex movements, but also in his strategic understanding of boxing and his thoughtful approach to the psychological side of the sport.
"Training with Nolan has become an essential part of my life. If you’re in NYC and looking, I can’t recommend him highly enough.
"Just be warned, you may end up getting as hooked as I am.”
One comment on his Instagram post read: “BRUHHHHH. Absolutely marvellous six pack, what the hell."
Another said: "You could wash laundry on those abs! Keep it up! Amazing!!!! Way to get us all motivated to get off our butts lol."
A third added: "Ripped. Torn. Shredded!!! LFG! You look amazing dude!"
Page’s potential upcoming boxing project could be hugely anticipated based on the reaction not only to his transformation, but his role as Sinon in The Odyssey.

Though he only appeared in two major scenes, one was a scene stealing performance opposite Matt Damon, with a viral tweet saying: “Elliot Page devoured this scene ngl.”
Another fan replied: “My favourite scene of the entire movie, he was so f*cking good here.”
A third said: “The best scene of the movie, easy. The depth of pain and betrayal expressed in this scene is immaculate.”
