Many people make it a ritual to rewatch the Harry Potter films over Christmas and New Year.
If you've given them another go or are overdue for a movie marathon, did you spot what Aunt Petunia was doing in the infamous kitchen scene?
It's made crystal clear from the outset that Aunt Petunia, her husband, Vernon and son, Dudley, all loathe Harry Potter.
Petunia was Lily Potter's sister, and Harry was left on their doorstep in the wake of Lord Voldemort murdering his parents.

Instead of being a kindly, gentle aunt who would look after an orphaned little boy, J.K Rowling made sure the Dursleys did everything they could to make Harry's life a misery.
He lives in the cupboard under the stairs, is spoken to badly, and bossed about to do chores while Dudley does nothing.

Fans have finally noticed what Aunt Petunia was doing in the kitchen during one of the scenes in 2001's The Philosopher's Stone.
She is seen in the background with a giant metal pot on the stove, while Harry walks in with a letter from Hogwarts, inviting him to the same school his mum and dad attended for a magical education.
Many people assumed she was cooking, if they took notice of the mean-spirited aunt at all.
However, one fan shared their findings on Reddit, as some details from the book didn't translate fully on screen for the film version of the story.
"In Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Aunt Petunia is visible in the background of this scene, dyeing Dudley’s old clothes grey for Harry’s uniform.
"This is only ever mentioned in the book."

Because Aunt Petunia resented her sister, she was determined that Harry would attend a local state school, Stonewall High, rather than the fee-paying Smeltings Academy, which Dudley attends.
As a further insult to Harry, rather than buy the new uniform needed, she dyes Dudley's hand-me-down clothes grey instead for the new uniform.
One fan replied: "The amount of times I have seen this movie is crazy, and I’ve read the book once, absolutely loved it, and yet I didn’t even notice this.
“That’s actually really cool!! Just wish they kept Peeves in the film!", wrote another, about one of the book characters who didn't make it onscreen.
Someone else wrote: “Remember when the movies were this true to the books? Good times.”
Another added: "I always wondered what she was doing, I'd clearly forgotten that detail between [reading] the book and watching the film."
It wasn't too long before Hagrid made an unwelcome arrival to take Harry to Hogwarts, where he belonged, and treated him to a brand new uniform and cloak instead.
