Average earnings of OnlyFans creators as Harry Potter star joins to 'pay off her debts'

The Harry Potter star will have to hope she hits the big time if she wants that new roof

From the Wizarding World to the fetish fantasies, one Harry Potter star has added a new title as she joins the house of OnlyFans.

The actor says she has joined the subscription platform to help ‘pay off her debts’ and to contribute to renovating her home. And that’ll all hinge on her success as a creator as the amount people make on there tends to vary.

Sure, OnlyFans stars like Sophie Rain may have claimed to make over $40 million a year and former race driver Renee Gracie may make about $2 million, but the figure for the average earnings is a whole lot less.

Having absolutely blown up in popularity since the Covid pandemic, the platform has become a totally solid income stream for millions and Harry Potter’s Jessie Cave wants a slice.

The 37-year-old is probably best known for playing Ron Weasley’s girlfriend Lavender Brown in the franchise, appearing in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as well as Deathly Hallows parts one and two.

The Brit still works as an actor as well as a comedian, dabbling in podcasts and being a cartoonist.

But now Cave is also going to be offering fetish content on OnlyFans as she says she only plans to do it for a year.

She explained on Substack that she’s going to use the money to pay off her debts and do a renovation, including getting a new roof.

She wrote: "My aim? To get the house safe, cover the arsenic/lead wallpaper, build a new roof etc. My aim? To get out of debt."

She also wants to take her kids to Center Parcs, which she reckons will cost £3,000.

But how much of that she’ll do will really hinge on her success on OnlyFans as we break down the figures from the financial year ending 30 November 2023.

According to Variety, the overall company had a revenue of $6.6 billion (£5 billion) that year. OnlyFans takes a 20 percent cut of profits, meaning that there would be $5.32 billion (£4.1 billion) to share among creators.

Therefore, a bit of quick maths puts the average creator of the 4.1 million at raking in $1,300 (£1,000) per year, just $108 (£83) a month.

Now, I’m no contractor, but I know it’d take a lot more than that to renovate a home. But if Cave becomes a star creator, she’ll do it in no time.

As for what sort of content Cave will share, it's very specific.

Speaking on her Before We Break Up Again podcast, the mum-of-four said: “I’m launching an OnlyFans, it’s not a sexual one. It’s a fetish.

"Fetish doesn’t necessarily mean sexual... I'm not putting my boobs out."

She added: "This is entirely for hair based content. It's very much geared towards people who have an interested or fetish with hair.

"I do a lot of videos with my hair on Instagram and I have now for a while, and I just noticed that there's a lot of... it's never dirty comments, but I do get lots of interest in the hair thing. I just thought f**k it, I'm going to do something that is very niche."

She added on Substack: "Were my years of Harry Potter conventions in fact research?

"[It feels] like I’m doing something naughty, something a little f**ked up. I like that. Ripping up the good little actress rule book."
