All the mistakes in Home Alone you missed revealed in viral video

Home Alone might be the most beloved Christmas film around, but that doesn’t stop it from having some major mistakes dotted throughout it.

As happens every single Christmas-time fans have gone back and re-examined Home Alone, with one fan going viral for finding the mistakes in the film.

Macaulay Culkin himself has been speaking about the film ahead of the release of Fallout season two, which he is starring in, clarifying what Kevin’s Dad’s job is in the film which is connected to a major dark fan theory.

Another video from a legal expert also saw many realising that Kevin McAllister and the characters of Home Alone actually commit multiple serious crimes.

One viral video saw a TikToker reveal all the mistakes in the film, however, and some are so obvious you’ll kick yourself for having never seen them.

‘1 Minute Critic’ spoke about them in a new video, with the most obvious mistake coming in one of the movie’s most iconic moments.

During the scene in which Kevin is forgotten and mistaken for their next-door neighbour, the small kid mistaken for Culkin’s character goes up and speaks to one of the van drivers.

When he’s told by the driver: “Gee, kid I don’t know hit the road,” the child noticeably is mouthing the line under his breath.

Unless we are supposed to assume the child in question is some sort of trickster god who purposely makes them forget Kevin and leave him behind, this is quite clearly a huge blunder left in the film and hard to ignore once you’ve noticed it.

The next, however, is perhaps even more bizarre, with 1 Minute Critic stating that it ‘always bothered him as a kid’.

This is the scene in which Kevin rides a sled down the stairs at his house and, even though the set up inside the home would clearly see him careen into a wall, after the camera cuts he flawlessly flies out the door.

In addition to this, the TikToker points out that, as he’s flying through the air, you can very clearly see wheels on the bottom of the sled.

The third movie mistake is the kind that clearly could’ve been picked up by a script supervisor, the job on a set dedicated to continuity.

Not to call out whoever took on this role on Home Alone, but they had a pretty major blunder.

The TikToker shows the scene in which Kevin runs home from church after being spooked by his neighbour Marley.

He leaves the church in dark coloured trousers, turn into blue jeans on the way home, and then after another cut turns back into his original outfit.

Whilst for some people these kinds of mistakes might ruin immersion, for others it’s nowhere near enough to affect how much they enjoy it.

One comment said: “I honestly never noticed any of that lol.”

Another, however, said: “This movie can have 1000 flaws and I’d still love it.”
