The owner of the beloved Home Alone house has revealed their brand new plans for the property.
This comes after previously released pictures of the home made famous by the Christmas movie caused a viral outrage after owners were found to have modernised it.
Home Alone’s house is arguably one of the most iconic parts of the film, in particular due to the majority of the runtime taking place with Kevin holed up in the house without his family.
The house is also the focus of multiple theories, with Chris Columbus just this past year having finally answered the question of how Kevin’s parents are able to afford such a beautiful abode.

The real home from the Macaulay Culkin film in Winnetka, Illinois, was put on the market in 2024, eventually selling for a whopping $5.5 million (£4.1 million).
This was the first time in over a decade that it had been on the market and revealed the major renovations that it had undergone.

Photos from inside the house showed the changes with the walls painted predominantly white and countertops and surfaces mostly black.
Fans of the film were left raging recently after seeing comparisons of the property now to its heyday in the 90s, with many taking to Instagram to express their anger.
One user claimed the changes to the house had ‘removed its soul’, while another comment with nearly 10,000 likes said: “A moment of silence for what once was a house, and is now a sterile doctor’s office.”
A third wrote: “I want them on trial for what they did to that beautiful kitchen.”
Fans of Home Alone will hopefully rejoice, however, when they learn of the updated plans the new owner has for the house.
Speaking to NBC Chicago, project manager Scott Price stated that they are planning to return the house to its former nostalgic glory.

He said: “Our vision is to bring back the warmth and just the love from the movie.
“There was so many great colours and it just made you feel like family and like home and we want to bring that magic back.”
Price did not reveal a timeline for these changes, but did add: “We love this movie; it was a really important movie in our childhood and that’s true for the family that owns the house too.”
The renovation announcement comes off the back of the memoir Home But Alone No More, in which the previous owner John Abendshien opened up about owning the house while filming took place.
He told ABC News: “We had a large master bedroom suite that we converted into an apartment.
“As long as we kept out of the camera eye, we were free to roam and watch scenes as they were being filmed.”
