Hugh Jackman fans in shock after Hollywood star is spotted holidaying in Yorkshire

Fans of Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman have been left in shock after he was spotted holidaying in the Yorkshire Dales.

We all know that a lot of celebs live normal lives when they are not in front of the cameras, but that doesn't stop us from being shocked when seeing them do 'normal things' in public.

There's been plenty of examples, too. From Keanu Reeves stunning punters in a Hertfordshire pub, to the Turf Pub in Wrexham that has had plenty of famous faces come through its doors thanks to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

But you'd probably expect Hollywood superstars to holiday in the likes of California and luxury resorts in the Caribbean.

However, for Hugh Jackman and his family, well, they decided to holiday in Yorkshire's Brontë Country.

The Wolverine star decided to ditch his usual lifestyle to dig into some lovely British cuisine at a hotel near Silsden - a small town in the city of Bradford.

As per the BBC, Angela Armitage, manager of the Steeton Hall Hotel, hosted Jackman and his family for his Yorkshire stay.

Armitage said the Australian actor told her he thought the Yorkshire Dales were 'lovely', while she described Jackman as 'such a genuine bloke'.

Following Jackman's stay at the Steeton Hall Hotel, the 500+ year hotel posted a photo of Jackman with staff to Facebook.

Captioning the photo, the hotel wrote: "Wow, all we can say is what a pleasure we had to host Hugh Jackman and his family these last couple of days.

"It isn't often you get an opportunity to share your business with somebody like this so it was great to hear they enjoyed their stay and that the food was 'fantastic' and 'brilliant'

"We hope to meet you all again!"

Jackman really paid into local tradition, with a nervous chef cooking the movie star pie and chips for his evening meal.

The night ended with Jackman and co singing happy birthday to the head chef's son, who was turning 15.

During his stay at the Steeton Hall Hotel, Jackman asked Armitage to recommend him a walking route, as the Yorkshire Dales is known for its stunning walks and scenery.

On his Yorkshire adventure, Jackman was also spotted taking a bit of a stroll.

Jackman was recommended to head to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towards Skipton, where he was spotted on a shocked family's doorbell camera.

Local resident Danny Clarke's camera captured Jackman stopping to photograph the eggs on sale by their gate.

Speaking to the BBC, Clarke said: "The biggest Hollywood movie star in the world putting a picture of our kids' farm eggs on Instagram - they couldn't believe it."

During his time in Yorkshire, Jackman also visited The Courtyard Dairy, with a photo of Jackman with staff at the cheese shop posted to Facebook.
