Joanna Page's parents forced to watch her sex scenes every year as they adore Love Actually

Joanna Page's parents forced to watch her sex scenes every year as they adore Love Actually

She's only seen it once and says it was 'traumatic' to watch

Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page says her family rewatch festive favourite Love Actually each year - which is slightly awkward given the fact she appears naked in several scenes.

The 46-year-old actor plays ‘Just’ Judy in the 2003 flick, a film industry body double, who is paired with John (played by Martin Freeman) to simulate a sex scene for the cameras.

The couple hit it off and John eventually asks Judy out on a date, all while completely naked and pretending to have sex.

Nothing awkward about that, eh?

Across Christmas, many Brits will give the Richard Curtis rom-com another watch, with Page saying she regularly catches bits of it on the telly during this time of year.

Speaking on Loose Women last year, she said: "At Christmas time you catch snippets and bits on the telly, and it's those bits I see, but I never know if I'm in it then or not.

"If it's on the afternoon I'm like, ‘well, was I in that one or was I not in that one?’ Because they've sometimes got to censor it."

And amongst those who do rewatch it every year are Page’s family who 'adore' the film and insist it’s not 'really Christmas' until they’ve seen it.

She went on: “They watch it every year.

"They say it's not Christmas until they've seen Love Actually. Which makes me laugh because, 'It's not Christmas until we've seen our little girl up on the screen naked!'"

While many of us may be mortified at the thought of our nearest and dearest seeing us in the buff on the telly, Page has admitted that she’s not massively bothered it.

“There’s nothing I find more mortifying than having to be really sexy, but Judy isn’t remotely sexy,” she told inews.

“I don’t mind my mum seeing it at all. It’s all just a bit of fun.”

Fair enough.

But while her family might be huge fans of the movie, Page revealed last year that she’s actually only seen it once and that she found that pretty ‘traumatic’.

She told Loose Women: “I've only ever seen it once. I couldn't make the premiere as I was working.

"I went to the Cardiff film festival, introduced it and watched it in the front row and it was traumatic.

"I don't like watching myself at the best of times and especially not naked."
