There's a star of the big screen who has been working in movies for 70 years, and finally won an Oscar earlier this year.

It might have taken him 38 films to do it, but the accolade was richly deserved and now you'll be able to watch the award-winning film at home.

Let's not beat around the bush here, the big movie star we speak of is none other than Godzilla, and Netflix was very pleased to announced that from today onwards you can stream Oscar-winning film Godzilla Minus One on their platform.

The movie took home the Best Visual Effects award at this year's Oscars for the way they brought the iconic monster to life.

On top of that, the film is just excellent in pretty much every way as it's rocking a Rotten Tomatoes score of 98 percent with both critics and audiences.

If you didn't catch it when it was in cinemas now's your chance to see Godzilla Minus One as it's available to stream on Netflix, though be warned that it's going to keep you glued to your sofa for a couple of hours.

The movie takes us back to the end of the Second World War, where a kamikaze pilot encounters Godzilla himself and is one of the only survivors of the attack.

He then learns that the war is over, and while trying to rebuild his life in the wreckage of Japan who should return but Godzilla?

That's about all we'll tell you of the plot of the movie, and it frankly wasn't hard to guess that Godzilla would show up to wreak havoc in a Godzilla movie.

The rest we'll leave up to you to discover, though your humble writer can reveal that he was Godzilla Minus One when it was in the cinema and thought it was f**king amazing.

Clearly I'm not the only who who thought the film was brilliant, as the reaction to Netflix's announcement was packed with praise for the film.

One response I particularly agree with was the fellow who wrote: "GOATED MOVIE. I F**KING LOVE THIS MOVIE WITH ALL OF MY HEART."

Others called Godzilla Minus One a 'masterpiece', while someone else recommended that you 'watch it on the biggest, loudest screen you have'.

Indeed, a titan of cinema such as Godzilla deserves the grandest possible scale.

"The greatest Godzilla movie ever," as another fan put it, well deserves your attention and really ought to be at the top of your viewing queue.

I'm not sure how many more ways I can tell you to see this film, you'd have to search far and wide to find someone who didn't love it.

Godzilla Minus One is available to stream now on Netflix.
