A horror film that's been hailed as the 'scariest film of the year' will soon be dropping on Netflix, just in time for Halloween.

There's absolutely no denying that we're well into the swing of spooky season, with many of us taking to our sofas to binge our favourite horror films and series.

FYI, if you haven't already binged the entirety of The Fall of the House of Usher, you're doing Halloween wrong.

Anyway, it looks like things are about to get even creepier as an Australian film with an incredibly impressive Rotten Tomatoes score is coming Netflix next week.

Originally premiering at the Adelaide Film Festival in 2022 and dropping in cinemas earlier this year, Talk To Me follows a group of friends who discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, leading them to become hooked on the new thrill.

The film - directed by twin brothers and YouTubers Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou - focuses on 17-year-old Mia (Sophie Wilde) who soon finds herself at the centre of multiple disturbing supernatural events.

This is when things turn ugly as Mia accidentally unleashes terrifying supernatural forces.

After being released in UK cinemas earlier this year, Talk To Me was praised heavily - and the Rotten Tomatoes scores don't lie.

Talk To Me has been hailed as the 'scariest film of the year'.

With a 94% Tomatometer score and an audience score of 82%, the Aussie supernatural flick has a "fright-filled, fast-paced, and often unpredictable story that'll keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish," according to one creeped out viewer.

The glowing reviews came in thick and fast too, with Clarisse Loughrey from The Independent giving the film four-stars and praising it for paying homage to 'classic '80s horror'.

"Its practical effects are effective, rendering it dead in bloated, blotchy, dripping flesh," she said.

"And when the spirits reveal more demonic, subversive desires, the tricks they play on the living are delivered with a taunt and a giggle."

The Aussie horror will soon be available to stream on Netflix.

But Talk To Me certainly isn't for the faint of hearted, with critics at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival labeling it as the 'scariest film of the year'.

Now that's no mean feat with the likes of The Exorcist: Believer and Saw X to compete with!

Of course, Halloween wouldn't be Halloween without the scariest film of the year, would it?

This is clearly what Netflix thinks, as Talk To Me will be dropping on the streaming service on Thursday, 26 October... which is just a mere five days away - and only another five away from Halloween itself!
