Netflix viewers urged to watch extremely violent film dubbed 'British version of John Wick'

People reckon it gives John Wick a run for it's money

Although I can't promise you a Keanu Reeves lookalike, apparently this film is basically the 'British version of John Wick'.

Seen as though the release of John Wick: Chapter Five doesn't seem to be coming anytime soon, this movie might just tide you over until then.

Take a look at this trailer:

Although the actors and accents may be different, this action film is giving the legendary assassin a run for his money.

The major difference is the stuff going down in Avengement is taking place on the mean streets of London rather than New York.

The tense 88-minute movie, starring Scott Adkins, Craig Fairbrass and Thomas Turgoose, tells the story of Brit prisoner Cain Burgess who is out for a bit of revenge, to say the least.

Just a heads up, spoilers lay ahead...

He's given a police escort to a hospital before being informed of his beloved mother's death - and all hell breaks loose when he sees her corpse, as a delay from the guards meant that he didn't make it to say goodbye in time.

People have dubbed the film the 'UK's John Wick'.

Cain escapes and heads off to drown his sorrows at a private bar which he enters after beating up the bouncers, before revealing that he knows the owner... who is actually his brother.

He's been stuck behind bars taking beatings from screws for years as he wouldn't give up his shady sibling Lincoln, but what later unfolds really might make you question if blood is thicker than water.

People have been raving about the film, which was originally released in 2019, promising others who enjoy an action-packed film with twists and turns that Avengement won't disappoint.

One social media user said: "The British John Wick and the modern day Robin Hood is Cain Burgess."

Another said: "Holy f**k. #Avengement is absolutely insane at how violent and relentless it gets. It’s also quite profane (prob over 20 c bombs) Scott Adkins shows off both his fighting skills and some range as an actor.

"If you like your action movies near NC-17 in brutality, watch on Netflix."

A third added: "Avengement is the British version of John Wick. And it’s great."

And a fourth said: "Make sure to catch Avengement. It’s possibly the best down and dirty action movie of the year and a new high for Scott Adkins/Jesse V. Johnson, who’re the most reliable duo making cheapie violent flicks nowadays.

"Adkins is like a beefier Gary Oldman in it!"

Forget John Wick, it's all about Cain Burgess from here on out.
