Insider expects big GTA 6 announcement in the next two weeks and for good reason

Could a Grand Theft Auto VI update finally be around the corner?

The hype surrounding GTA 6 is reaching new heights again, as well-known insider Tom Henderson has hinted that an official announcement could be just around the corner.

In fact, he believes we could hear something major within the next two weeks. Much like a modern gaming clairvoyant, Henderson has a strong track record of accurately leaking gaming news, making him someone worth listening to.

Henderson has predicted that Rockstar Games will be dropping some official news on GTA 6 within the next couple of weeks, before Take-Two's upcoming earnings call on 15 May.

In the gaming industry, it is common for major news to drop just before these types of investor meetings, especially when it could impact stock prices and shareholder expectations, so it makes sense that we might see some GTA developments before then.

On the Inside Gaming Podcast on 24 April, Tom reflect on the upcoming earnings call, saying: "We're two weeks away from earnings. If it's coming out this year, we should hear something in the next two weeks.

"That's not like a leak or anything like that. That's speculation. Just simply because they have to, right? The next earnings call after that is August."

When his comments began to circulate on Twitter, Tom added: "I have zero knowledge if they will - It was nothing more than speculation."

While Henderson might be quick to defend that its only a prediction, there have been fresh signs of movement behind the scenes at Rockstar. Recent leaks, updated game ratings, and insider comments all suggest that development is progressing steadily.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting more concrete news since Rockstar confirmed the game’s existence back in 2022, but updates have been few and far between, but if Henderson is right, that could all be about to change.

Although we will have to wait and see if anything comes from his prediction, we do know that GTA 6 is set to release in Autumn 2025, hopefully with the earnings report just weeks away, we can start to get a clear picture of when we can expect to jump back into Vice City.

However, not everyone believes a full release date is around the corner. While new information about GTA 6 is likely coming soon, it does not necessarily mean the game’s release is imminent. Instead, it could be a new trailer, an official poster, or a teaser outlining when more details will drop.

Rockstar is known for playing the long game when it comes to building hype, and for all we know, we could be hit with new teasers followed by delays. At the moment, even Henderson's legendary prediction skills aren't enough to know exactly what's going on behind the scenes at Rockstar.

That being said, fans have every reason to be optimistic.

Whether it’s a fresh trailer, a story reveal, or even an official release window, the next two weeks could finally give fans the news they have been waiting for.

Even if the update is just a new trailer, at least it will give fans something else to be excited about.
