GTA 6 will feature franchise's first character type, leaks suggest

The sixth instalment of the beloved game could introduce a new kind of character.

Fans of the Grand Theft Auto franchise are eagerly awaiting for news on the sixth instalment.

A trailer is finally dropping early on next month - just in time for Christmas - much to the excitement of gamers who can't wait to find out what's in store.

Current rumours indicate GTA 6 is looking to release either in late 2024 or early 2025, so there is plenty of time to prepare still.

But gamers have been presuming they will be making a return trip to Vice City after leaked footage claiming to be from GTA 6 seemed to indicate as such.

The city looked plenty like the Grand Theft Auto version of Miami, and as if that wasn't clue enough, a character was spotted riding the Vice City Metro. So. if we can believe the hacked footage then it looks like we're heading back there for the first time since Vice City Stories in 2006.

Gamers could see a new kind of character on their screens.

Bloomberg's Jason Schreier said a source from Rockstar confirmed that the hacked footage was indeed authentic, so while it showed unfinished gameplay it looks like we are indeed bound for Vice City.

The leaked footage also showed a female protagonist named Lucia, the first for Grand Theft Auto's singleplayer missions.

Rumours suggest we'll be getting at least two protagonists with a 'Bonnie and Clyde' dynamic to their relationship, so the character switching mechanism from GTA 5 could make a welcome return.

But the couple may also have another character in tow with them - a child.

Fans are eagerly awaiting news on the storyline of GTA 6.

The latest leak suggests that a youngster will feature in GTA 6 for the first time in the series.

Claims suggest Lucia will have a kid who appears in storyline cutscenes and is pretty relevant to the plot.

He is said to be 'much younger' than gamers may presume, similar to how Jack Marston was in Red Dead Redemption.

But fans pointed out that children had graced the screens of gamers in GTA's Vice City Stories.

The newborn daughter of Louise Cassidy-Williams and Marty Jay Williams, Mary-Beth, is featured in the storyline.

As well as this, teenager Jill Von Crastenburg - who is said to be around 13-years-old - also appears in Vice City Stories.

Either way, welcoming another child into the fold is always good news, right?

Fans think Lucia might be running around on a crime rampage with a baby on her hip due to the latest leak.

It would certainly be a power move
