Rockstar gives fans first official update on release of GTA 6

Rockstar gives fans first official update on release of GTA 6

It won't be long before you get your first glimpse at GTA VI

Rockstar Games have announced that the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI is coming very soon.

We'd been expecting a big announcement from them this week, which some had hoped might be a trailer, but instead we've had a confirmation that the trailer is coming.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Rockstar shared a message from boss Sam Houser saying that the first trailer for GTA VI would be coming in 'early December'.

Hallelujah and praise be to the gaming gods as it's been over a decade since GTA V launched to incredible levels of success and made us all wonder where Rockstar could take it next.

There's been plenty of speculation from Grand Theft Auto fans over what they might be getting in the sixth mainstream instalment from the massively popular series, but now we're just a few weeks away from Rockstar giving us the first concrete look at the game.

Rockstar said on X that next month would mark 25 years of the company being in the gaming business as they thanked the fans for coming on this journey with them.

They ended the message from Houser by confirming that the new Grand Theft Auto trailer was coming next month.

As you can imagine the fan response to this announcement was euphoric, there are few franchises in gaming that can match GTA, and fans have gone more than 10 years since they last got a new instalment.

Gamers can expect sleeker controls, better graphics and a whole new sandbox to drive around in while they're served up a helping of new missions and most likely a fresh online mode, given how popular Grand Theft Auto Online has been for Rockstar.

GTA V was huge, so how big is GTA VI going to be?

We do know that GTA VI is expected to feature the first female protagonist in the series' singleplayer history.

Plenty of people were just responding with 'HOLY S**T', so evidently they'll be counting down the days until December.

Others joked that Rockstar were 'finally gonna stop milking GTA V', which is saying something considering they've had 10 good years out of the game and plenty of people are still playing it.

Plenty more were just posting messages in disbelief that we're actually getting a trailer for the next GTA game, bringing an end to years of waiting and uncertainty over updates on the future of the franchise.

In the words of several excited people on social media: "LET'S F**KING GOOOOOOOOO!"
