Let’s be honest, it feels like fans have been waiting for the next instalment in the Grand Theft Auto series for ages.
While the current release date of 19 November this year remains in place for GTA 6, people are getting pretty angsty about the wait.
And as complaints and rumours on social media continue to boil, there is new speculation about physical measures supposedly having to be taken by the big game bosses.
There has already been scam warnings for pre-orders and talk about GTA 6 being ‘unplayable’ but now fans are saying security is being cranked up. Allegations include senior staff receiving police escorts with the Rockstar North office in Edinburgh supposedly under ‘maximum security’.

But Police Scotland have now told LADbible that this isn’t necessarily the case.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland told LADbible they ‘cannot see any calls to the address provided for Rockstar North in Edinburgh today or last night’.
On social media, the speculation comes as there is said to be intense secrecy and protection surrounding the development of GTA 6.
Gamer Ötesi Oyunculuk previously reportedly visited the office in Scotland to hold a peaceful protest and is claimed to have tried to walk inside.
He’s alleged police were called over this but it’s not totally clear that he actually uncovered anything.
But it’s claimed now that Rockstar North is ‘protected under a special police program at the request of the Scottish government’ and that there are 50 to 60 security cameras monitoring the building.
There is also alleged 24/7 security stationed in the lobby and it’s even claimed that police patrols ‘pass by every 20-30 minutes’.
The gamer also claimed that senior employees and key members of the development team leave the office in taxis that are accompanied by a police escort.

But again, it’s unclear if any of this is actually true with the police spokesperson not reporting any calls to the force.
The LADbible Group has contacted Rockstar Games for comment on the claims.
With the current release date sitting at 19 November following a long delay, it’s said more concrete information on GTA 6 will release later in the year.
But it get a mention on a previous earnings call for Take-Two Interactive, which owns Rockstar Games.
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick said GTA 6 was 'arguably the most anticipated entertainment property of all time', and that more marketing for the game would be coming in the summer.
