After over a decade, it finally feels as if GTA 6 is a real game and not simply a meme used to describe something that will never happen.

GTA V came out all the way back in 2013, with the first trailer for GTA 6 releasing two and a half years back in December of 2023.

Now though, we are just a mere six months away from the sixth instalment in the world famous gaming franchise.

After all this waiting however, fans have still found a way to become slightly impatient, with them posting in droves on social media about their desire to pre-order the game and truly confirm that the game is real and they will be playing it in November.

Now though, a gaming insider has revealed that pre-orders are just ‘days away’ due to a new leaked email.

Gaming YouTubers have been receiving codes to pre-order GTA 6 just days from now

The first inkling of movement on pre-ordering the game came through a Gaming YouTuber called Frogboyx1Gaming, who posted a video of an email from US supermarket Best Buy.

The affiliate email claimed that they would be running a campaign in just a few days for ‘GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game)’, between 18 May and 21 May.

A popular GTA 6 updates page posted a clip of the YouTuber showing the email, asking the question: “Could this mean retailers are preparing for pre-orders?”

Apparently a creator received a Best Buy affiliate email mentioning a “GTA 6 Pre Order (Physical Game)” campaign running from May 18–21. 👀

The answer then appeared to be given by a second YouTuber, TGGonYT, who posted on X: “I've received the email. It's all real. Only question is, was this a mistake? Everything is real, I just can't believe it.”

There have also been posts on Reddit of fans receiving the email, so it appears that if you want to pre-order GTA 6 – you should be getting your wallet ready.

Rumours suggest a third trailer to GTA 6 could be dropping imminently

There has been over a full year since the last trailer for GTA 6 on 5 May, 2025, with Rockstar having gone radio quiet in recent months.

Fans online have therefore begun to speculate on when we will get a third (and likely final) proper trailer for the game.

A main driver in this is the fact that TakeTwo, GTA 6's parent company, have an earnings call 21 May with many believing they are likely to drop a trailer before this date to give the company momentum heading into the event.

In a pretty apt commentary on the modern wait for new games however, one fan has pointed out on Reddit that the wait for a new trailer has now exceeded the gap in release between GTA 3 and GTA: Vice City.

Another Redditor has also posted to encourage fans to be patient, suggesting it must be just around the corner. They said the trailer will be 'here soon' and fans should relax.

The post went on to add: "I understand today a lot of us were unfortunately disappointed, we were hoping for that third trailer just days before the earnings call. Let me reassure you all that a third trailer is going to be here very soon."

They pointed out that Rockstar had previously confirmed marketing will pickup rapidly in the summer, and May is technically the back end of spring. The GTA mega-fan also pointed to TakeTwo CEO Strauss Zelnick who has stated in recent interviews that the game is on track and will release on time in November of 2026.

Add to that recent emails encouraging players with PS4's to upgrade ahead of the game, leaked emails, and the fact that fellow Rockstar game Red Dead Redemption 2 released its final trailer closer to its release than we are to GTA 6 now. The post finished by saying: "Anyways, what I’m getting at is although it’s frustrating, may was never the month we were getting more gta 6 news. I can promise you however June/July will be full of marketing including trailers, screenshots, pre orders, tv commercials etc. So just sit back, relax, and keep patiently waiting for the summer! We are almost there."

After 13 years, what's a few more months to wait?
