Rockstar release new GTA trailer that's got everyone confused

Could the new trailer be a big hint for GTA 6?

Rockstar Games has released a new Grand Theft Auto trailer that has left everyone a little bit confused.

Earlier this week, a trailer titled Experience Grand Theft Auto Online was uploaded to YouTube on 13 October and has been doing the rounds on social media, despite being unlisted, suggesting the publisher didn't intend for people to find it just yet.

However, Rockstar also uploaded the video to their X (formerly Twitter) account on 10 October, and clicking on the video takes you to the company's website.

The one-minute trailer doesn't seem out of the ordinary, as it tells fans they can get their hands on $4 million in the Career Builder to launch their criminal enterprise.

However, it's one little comment at the beginning that has chins wagging.

You can watch the trailer here:

"I'm afraid our time isn't up yet," the voiceover says. Could it be a cheeky little nod towards the eagerly anticipated GTA 6?

Considering GTA Online has been out for 12 years, a lot of fans appear to think so, as one person commented: "This gave me chills man. Like they know we’re at the home stretch and are getting ready to reveal something big."

Meanwhile, another questioned: "Available now?! Bruh, we've been playing it for 12 years.."

Others accused Rockstar of taunting fans as they desperately wait for breadcrumbs about GTA 6, which is still currently set for release in May next year, despite rumours of a second delay swirling.

"They're stalling us until GTA 6 comes out," one fan wrote, while another added: "This has to be a troll."

The video, which has only amassed 48,000 views after Rockstar successfully hid it on YouTube, comes after it was revealed that their parent company, Take-Two, would be issuing its next big update next month.

The publisher hosts a major update every quarter, addressing shareholders and stakeholders about earnings and the company's performance to drive investment.

With GTA 6 currently sitting as the biggest and most expensive project on the video game holding company's books, the eagerly anticipated title is expected to take centre stage during the update.

Since GTA 6's first trailer was released in December 2023, the video game has been mentioned in every quarterly call.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 6 November at 9.30pm UK time (4.30pm Eastern Time / 1.30pm Pacific Time).

Fans are hoping and praying for some concrete evidence that the new title is still on track for the May release date, after insiders suggested a second delay would be announced sometime in early 2026.
