Cyber Monday shoppers can claim an extra 20 percent off currently-reduced Xbox consoles in Amazon’s Black Friday sale.

While a wealth of Sony PlayStation products, including consoles and controllers, were dramatically discounted in the UK’s Black Friday sale, Xbox consoles, unfortunately, weren’t dropped by much.

Right now, the best deal you can get is £30 slashed off the Xbox Series X price tag (now £469), and £30.99 off the Series S (now £269) via Amazon’s Cyber Monday sale which ends at midnight tonight.

These offers pale in comparison to the £150 price reduction of this PlayStation 5, for example.

But the good news is that if you were one of the many ‘disappointed’ by the Xbox reduction - as reported by The Radio Times - then you can still get an extra 20 percent off using Amazon’s Trade-In program.

But you have to be quick, with the original Black Friday sale ending today.

What is Amazon Trade-In?

Amazon is on hand to help recycle, reuse or refurbish your old or obsolete gadgets, offering a financial reward in the process.

If you own any qualifying items, you can receive a ‘thank you’ in the form of a digital gift card, plus an additional promotional discount of up to 20 percent if you’re eligible.

Of course, you can spend this cash reward on anything, including a new model of the kit you just handed in, or something else you’ve had your eye on.

If you’re a gamer who was ‘disappointed’ by the Amazon Black Friday Xbox deals, then you can put your gift towards a brand new Xbox Series S or a Series X console.

With the Series S, you can access a library of games via Game Pass (Microsoft)

How to claim Amazon Trade-In offer

To get your saving, you just have to head over to the Amazon Trade-In scheme, fill in questions regarding the quality of your electronic device, and submit.

As long as the data you inputted is accurate, the retailer will then deliver you a gift card and a promotional discount.

You can use your discount as soon as its approved, but you need to make sure you ship the item you promised Amazon ASAP.

Xbox Series S

If you’re after a new Xbox Series S, then you can currently get 20 percent off the price of a brand new model by trading in your older version. Or, you can hand Amazon your pre-loved Xbox Series S to take some money off a Xbox Series X instead.

If you don’t own a Series S yet, then qualifying tech trade-ins can also help you score a bargain, too.

Amazon currently has the Xbox Series S on sale for 10 percent off, meaning instead of its usual £299.99 price tag, you can buy it for £269.

With the extra 20 percent discount you’ll get from the Amazon Trade-In scheme, you may only have to pay £215.20 for the console.

This bargain isn’t around for long though, with Amazon’s Black Friday sale ending today (December 1).

Features of the Xbox Series S include:

  • Quick resume to seamlessly switch between games
  • Lightning-fast loading times
  • Higher, steadier framerates at up to 120 FPS
  • Backward compatibility so players can jump into four generations of games
  • 512GB of internal storage
  • Access instant library of over 100+ games with Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Series X

The Xbox Series X, hailed as the ‘fastest, most powerful Xbox ever’, is on sale via Amazon right now. Instead of costing £499.99, shoppers can bag the console for £469.99 instead.

With Amazon’s Trade-In deal, you can take another 20 percent off the asking price. That means if you want to upgrade from the Series S to the X, or have another qualifying tech item, you could whittle the price right down to £375.99.

If you’ve had your eye on the Series X - which supports play in Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and can host four generations of Xbox games - for awhile, then now is the time to jump.

Be warned though, Black Friday is over in a matter of hours. So, if you want to make good on the extra discount, you have to act fast.
