Graham Norton To Host Amazon Prime's First Irish Original Series

Graham Norton has been announced as the host of the upcoming show, 'LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland.'

Amazon Prime has selected a familiar face for its first Irish original series as Graham Norton was announced as the host of the upcoming show, 'LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland.'

The very popular TV presenter will host the show which will be entirely filmed in Ireland and will be shown on Amazon Prime in 2024.

First launched in Japan, 'LOL: Ireland' is the next version due to hit the streaming service. It began in 2016 and has been a hit in many of the countries that it has been adopted such as France, Germany and Australia.

The show brings together 10 of the “most sought-after comedy stars" in Ireland who attempt to make each other laugh by using every comedic tool in the box. The catch, the stars cannot even crack a smile themselves and the winner is whoever can outlast the competition.

Speaking about the show, Graham Norton said “I'm thrilled to be the host for the first Irish Original, LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland on Prime Video, and to be working on home ground for the first time in many, many years. I'm so proud of our comedy culture and it's wonderful to have a platform to showcase Irish talent to a global audience. I can't wait to see what our comedy masterminds do to get the laughter going.”

The Amazon Studios' head of originals for the UK and Northern Europe, Dan Grabiner, said “Graham Norton and Last One Laughing is a match made in heaven.

"Ireland is home to world-class comedy and a booming television scene - we can't wait to celebrate and be part of that with our first Irish original production.”

Produced by Kite Entertainment, the show will be filming its six episodes in Dublin this spring before it is released worldwide in 2024.
