Hairy Bikers' Dave Myers says he's over the moon that he's still breathing after cancer diagnosis.

The talented chef appeared alongside Si King for today's (10 December) episode of Saturday Kitchen where he was in good spirits about his condition. Take a look:

Dave, 65, announced his diagnosis in early May of this year, and while he didn't give any details about the exact type of cancer, he said the 'prognosis is okay' and his chemotherapy treatment is 'working'.

Excited to have both Hairy Bikers in the house, Matt Tebutt says to Dave: "We're very honoured, this is your first time out."

Dave then excitedly replies: "I'm over the moon, I'm still breathing," which gets a huge cheer from the other guests.

Viewers at home were delighted to see Dave in such good spirits, with one writing on Twitter: "Amazing to see Dave Myers back on our screens!"

"I have to say it’s so great to see Dave Myers on tv this morning," said another. "Keep well Dave."

A third chimed in: "Brilliant to see Dave Myers back on TV on Saturday kitchen, and looking great."

"DaveMyers looking great on Saturday kitchen," said a fourth. Well played both you men! #HairyBikers."

Dave has been open with fans since revealing his diagnosis, having made the initial announcement on his Agony Uncles podcast with Si.

Dave shared the update on his podcast.

He explained: "Anyway Kingy, I've got to come clean now, I haven't been too well recently."

"And basically, I've got to have some chemo - you know all this anyway.

"So this year is going to be a bit quiet for me, I'm not going to be filming, some of the festivals I'm not going to be able to go to, some may be okay but this year's a bit of a write-off for us."

The celebrity chef went on to say: "I have had to speak up about this because I don't want to hide under a rock.

“But I would love it if people respected my privacy and just let me get on with it and give Si and our team all the support they need, that would be great."

Speaking on Kate Thornton's podcast White Wine Question Time back in July, Dave also spoke about what his chemotherapy treatment has been like, and assured the fans that 'it's working'.

"About three months ago my life took a bizarre turn. As usual, I went to the doctors complaining of certain bits and bobs," he said.

Dave's had support from his best pal and fellow Hairy Biker Si King.

"Then next thing I know I get a phone call to say that it is a tumour and I'm going to have to have chemotherapy.

"Fortunately, the chemo is working. But it's the effect that the chemotherapy has on you.

"Every day is a school day. My eyes are sore because my eyelashes have fallen out and it's crap like that that's really irritating.

"But I'm getting there and we're getting through it. He's [Si King] as fit as a butcher's dog."
