Jamie Foxx hospitalised after suffering medical emergency

The actor's family have issued a statement on social media.

Jamie Foxx is in hospital due to an undisclosed medical emergency.

The 55-year-old, known for his roles in Django Unchained and Horrible Bosses, experienced a 'medical complication', according to his daughter Corinne Foxx.

Thankfully the actor is now recovering in hospital, his family have said.

“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” Corinne wrote on Instagram.

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers.

“The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family.”

LADbible has contacted Foxx's representatives for comment.

Foxx has been recently been filming in Atlanta, Georgia, for his upcoming Netflix movie Back in Action, alongside Cameron Diaz.

The action-comedy marks Diaz's return to acting, despite her plans to retire.

Her last on-screen role was in 2014's Annie, with Foxx.

Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Diaz said: “I did that for so long, it’s kind of like the process, I kind of just fell back into it. But it feels a little bit different.

“The last movie I made was Annie with Jamie, and so the first movie back is this film with Jamie.

“He’s so great, he’s so easy, he’s so professional, he’s so talented, and just being able to work with him.”

A source close to Diaz told PEOPLE she was enjoying her time on set and had great chemistry with actor.

"Filming has been amazing. Cameron really enjoys it. They have been doing a lot of nighttime filming," the source said.

"It hasn't bothered her because she is jet-lagged anyway. Her family is with her for support."

In August, the White House Down star told Entertainment Tonight that he persuaded Diaz to come out of retirement.

"Cameron is such an incredible force and she has done so much in this business," he said, "We love her."

"So it was literally, 'Do you wanna have some fun? Just have some fun!' And I think that's what brought her to it," he told the outlet.

"We miss special moments sometimes in our business, and I think this is a special moment.

"So we're so happy that it's happening and looking forward to it."

Back in Action is currently in active development and production is expected to begin later this year.

Netflix is yet to confirm a release date.
