What Is Jeremy Hunt's Net Worth In 2022?

What Is Jeremy Hunt's Net Worth In 2022?

The former foreign secretary has reportedly got ambitions to be prime minister, but what is he worth?

While Boris Johnson has been busy partying with cheese and wine in Downing Street, political geeks have spotted a familiar name plotting to challenge him for Prime Minister.

That’s right everyone, Jeremy Hunt is back (just be careful with that H…). And while Westminster gossips about Johnson’s potential replacement, we just want to know how loaded the former Health Secretary is.

What Is Jeremy Hunt’s Net Worth?

As of 2022, Jeremy Hunt has an estimated net worth of £14 million, according to the Express.

It’ll make the MP a far richer Prime Minister than Boris Johnson, who sits on £1.6 million - but not in the same league as the Chancellor (and Hunt’s leadership rival) Rishi Sunak, whose family’s wealth is mind-boggling

While Rishi Sunak can thank his wife and family for landing him such riches, Hunt made his cash by selling off an education company he founded in 1990, and gaining a neat £14 million for his bank account in 2017. It made him the richest Cabinet member at the time.

Before that, he worked as a management consultant, ran a start-up exporting marmalade to Japan, and co-founded a public relations agency.

Rags to riches? Not quite. He was head boy at a private boarding school, studied PPE at Oxford at the same time as Boris, David Cameron and George Osborne, and is a distant relative of the Queen.

The 55-year-old married his wife, Lucia Guo, in 2009. During a trip abroad in 2018, Hunt said his wife was Japanese. The only problem - she’s Chinese. He soon apologised for the gaffe.
