Joel Dommett Was Victim Of 'Horrific' Catfish Who Secretly Recorded An Explicit Video

The Mask Singer host was catfished into 'Skype sex' when he was in his 20s

Joel Dommett was once the victim of a catfish who recorded an explicit video of him.

The Masked Singer host, 36, was left horrified when years later the video was then released online.

Speaking to the Sun back in 2017, the comedian revealed that when he was in his 20s an attractive woman named Staci Taylor added him on Twitter and started sending him messages.

However, he had no idea that ‘Staci’ didn’t actually exist and in reality he was speaking to a catfish - the term given to someone who pretends to be someone else online.

Dommett said that shortly after they started messaging ‘Staci’ suggested they have ‘Skye sex’.

He explained: "I thought for a second, then immediately typed: 'Why not?!'

"She then replied: 'My microphone is broken so I won’t be able to chat, we will just be able to see each other. That OK?'

"I said, ‘yes’. Possibly out of politeness, possibly out of the terrible randiness-to-reason ratio we all suffer from at times of heightened sexuality."

Despite messaging ‘Staci’ afterwards, he never heard from her again.

Fast forward a couple of years and Dommett was followed by a Twitter account called CelebrityBusted - with a biography that read: “If we follow you, we have naked pictures of you. Follow us and DM us to stop us from releasing them.”

He went on: "At first I thought, “What? Why would anyone have naked pictures of me?”

And then I thought, 'No, Staci, no!', and then, 'No, I’m so stupid' - and finally I realised it was obviously a fake person.”

Back in 2016, Dommett shared a lengthy statement about the ‘horrific’ experience ahead of his stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Posting a statement ‘from Joel Dommett’s penis’ on Facebook, he said: "Joel was catfished a long time ago by somebody pretending to be someone else on the internet and was lured into Skype sex.

"That Skype sex session turned out to be entirely fake and has come back to bite Joel in the a*s (Joel's A*s is a good friend of mine and also features in the video).

"It's a genuinely horrific thing for another human being to do, to take advantage of what is private of someone's life and make it public for everyone to see.

"He obviously chose to go into I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and people may argue that you are forfeiting a life of privacy with that choice, which he agrees with to a degree but there is a line.”
