In Johnny Depp's defamation lawsuit against his former partner Amber Heard, he was represented by his attorneys, Ben Chew and Camille Vasquez, who both belong to the firm Brown Rudnick.

The trial lasted for over six weeks, with the Virginia jury finally siding with Depp, awarding him $10 million in compensatory damages. It was clear to see that for both these lawyers, who were influential in Depp's triumph, that the trial was not just a legal success but it also held sentimental value, with Camille Vasquez reportedly murmuring “we won” with tears in her eyes at the news of Depp's victory.

But now the trail has ended, what will Vaquez do now?

Who Is Camille Vasquez?

Camille Vasquez was born in 1984 (34 years old) and is a lawyer who is currently working with Brown Rudnick Firm, which represented Johnny Depp. According to the firm's website, she specialises in litigation and arbitration. She is a graduate from the University of South California who continued to study law at the Southwest Law School. Currently she focuses on plaintiff-side defamation suits, with additional experience litigating contract disputes, business-related torts, and employment-related claims. She is one of the nine attorneys who were involved in the Heard-Depp case.

During the trial, Camille was influential in Depp's victory, and has become an unexpected internet sensation after her great performance in the courtroom won the hearts of the public. Camille was thrown into the limelight after her courtroom demeanour, personality and unparalleled professional skills earned her admiration from many. She also acted with great respect in the courtroom, being able to communicate her points across skilfully.

What Will Camille Vasquez Do Now?

Right now, Camille Vasquez will be celebrating the legal victory that has catapulted her into fame and popularity. When she spoke outside the Virginia courthouse she once again underlined her affection for Depp, being overjoyed at justice he was given, stating that: The “verdict confirms what we have said from the beginning – that the claims against Johnny Depp are defamatory and unsupported by any evidence”. She also went on to thank the jury for their careful deliberation, going on to further say how honoured she was to be able to assist Mr Depp and that now “the jury has reached its conclusive verdict, it’s time to turn the page and look to the future."

Until this lawsuit, Camille had mainly worked on cases alleging breach of contract or discrimination by her client against employers. But the Depp-Heard trial has taken her from an unheard of attorney to a celebrity, with #CamilleVasquez gaining 2.5 Billion views on TikTok.

It is clear to see now that after her success in this trial Camille will be a highly sought out lawyer in future legal cases.
